I wanted to start a new thread on this but i don't seem to have permission..
Do you think we still have an inferiority complex compared to the rags and if so when do you think it'll end?
The reason I ask is that is that I regularly see comments (and I too am guilty of this) comparing us to the rags. We finish 3rd in the league or say QF of CL and instead of comments about how far we've come or that we should be aiming to win it, it's not unusual to see comments such as "well at least we finished above the rags" or "they weren't even in the CL".
How long before we really, genuinely don't care and just focus on our own selves? How long before success is measured against say real madrid rather than a team that finished 6th? We've been a big team now for a fair few years now.
It's more of a local thing bud.
Even If they/we were in League Two or whatever, I'd still find myself comparing us to them as socially in the area, that's how it is.
Makes it even more sweet now in discussion as we can consistently compete with them.
Inferiority complex?
Probably as a little kid in the 90's but most of the general public were plastic Twats anyway, just TV-fans.
Having the Champs league on national TV helped this.
Kids these days are glued to youtube and CityTV is completely free ;)
As I walk around the area I see more city shirts than ever before.
To quote the stone roses - Sally cinnamon - "the past is yours, well the futures mine"
Enjoy the ride, it's local banter, I couldn't give a fuck about any other club.
I compare City to City, and that's it.
Just Raggies for the lulz/banter
