United and Liverpool EFL project - proposal rejected

Even by the dismally low standards of Conn-man this is a steaming pile of shite. Apparently, Henry deeply cares about the EFL & the split in English football.

It’s interesting that the Guardian very rarely enables comments on his ramblings.
It's up to the individual writer whether they enable comments. And he never does these days.

These proposals are so transparently outrageous that I'm concerned theyarebeing presented deliberately to make a slightly wartered down version seem acceptable in coming months.
You cynic....

Marries in nicely to our blokes B team idea last week.

As you say it's testing the water.

Yes agree about thin end of wedge (25% good causes money will shrink in size rapidly) but removing the preferred status voting rights makes it much harder to manipulate.

I think the tournaments thing is a side show tbh. Cutting the prem to 18 also brings it into line with other leagues so not averse in principle.

don’t get me wrong - the motives of those bribing all this forward is very worrying which why getting rid of the voting stuff (if the whole thing can’t be gotten rid of) is a must
thinking about the 25% to good causes, would one of those good causes be updating old stadium for "historic reasons", the whole thing is a sham, and hopefully these american cunts who have devised the whole thing will now feel the full wraith of every football supporter, its all bollocks ,not one thing is good about it, every single proposal can be twisted to benefit those two slimy fuck everyone clubs, and anybody who thinks its a good idea needs fucking off as well
i agree that the lower leagues need help, but not in a form of a fucking loan, see how well that worked for poorer nations down the years, the premier league teams earn vast fucking fortunes, most are pissed up the wall, surely there is a way to filter more money downwards ,without having to benefit the rich even more, it is a football family and every member of that family needs a say in the future, not some don't give a fuck as long as i make more money yank cunts.

Sure I read somewhere that Chelsea had been included a lot earlier and taken part in some of the talks.
We all would have been talking and discussing various possibilities for months, that's obvious. What's not so obvious is whether we (or anyone else beside the two scumbags) were in support of this power grab (presuming it was raised).

The only thing I don't like is Soriano is always part of these big six get togethers in London, he seems to crave 'acceptance' of the so called elite?

We might be up to our neck with them but perhaps without putting ours on the actual chopping block?

I'm reminded again of Khaldoon saying we get to hear everything and that football is a small world.
We have to be there, how else are we to know what they're up to.

Depends what the end game is, I suppose.

Soriano's comments last week showed he wants reform down the pyramid, showing little empathy for clubs that have been around a long time.

However, the fact one of the proposals being put up is UEFA's FFP limits, you do have to wonder how we could ever be in favour of that?

Parry, Liverpool and United tried to end our existence, that is beyond any doubt.

Perhaps you keep your enemies closer and exposing their plans has achieved the desired outcome?

Parry won't survive and Liverpool and United are now the public face of this.
Apparently we were officially briefed with details as part of the big 6 on Thursday. Shortly after the plans were leaked to the Telegraph. Parry, Liverpool and United had to take ownership rather than being presented as a "Big 6" or premier league league idea. We could have easily taken the view that having it in the public domain at this point is to our advantage.

Let me start of by saying, I like Manchester City, the upheaval against the norm is a goods thing, at least for the most part.

This whole Project Big Picture is just bizarre.
Yes, the "big 6" have the most fans. Ok, that is true. No arguments.
The reason the PL is a success is because of its fight, its drama, its non closed unpredictable nature.

If the big 6 want this closed shop, then go to 18 teams, and let your good selves, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham (wtf) all play in this new shiny high powered league against your own B teams and youth teams.

Fans will be crying for rainy nights in Stoke inside a year.

Let's put an end to this and back the other 14 clubs in the Premier League. All this about helping the smaller clubs down the football pyramid is all a load of bull. The lie of Liverpool and Manchester United don't care one iota for these clubs like Oldham, Rochdale, Tranmere, and Blackpool plus all the other clubs in the other league's.

All they want is as much money as they can get out of future tv deals. They more than likely will insist that the bigger the club the more money it should get out of the tv deal. That two clubs along with Arsenal and Chelsea are just money grabbing clubs. That only care about themselves and nobody else.

This idea should be stopped dead in its tracts. If these clubs want t help these smaller clubs, then why don't they play friendlies against these clubs This would give them the money they so desperately need.

You're preaching to the converted mate. The overwhelming majority of City fans have seen straight through this cynical rag/dipper shitfest and are dead against it.
