United and Liverpool EFL project - proposal rejected

Is it more principled to want to marginally fuck over the Rags and Liverpool (and City, in all likelihood) and completely fuck over the entire Football League, or acquiesce to the demands of the Big Clubs (of which we are one) in order to bail out the Football League? Because that’s looking like the choice at hand
Plenty of other ways to help out the lower leagues, link ups with prem teams, favourable loans, tax relief, salary caps, increased solidarity payments, the list is endless, we showed our class during the covid outbreak & would do so to help the football family, the narrative being pushed is supposed to make all of football feel conflicted & vote it in....wasn’t that long ago the general consensus on here was we are in a very strong position to capitalise in the current climate, I’d hate us to back it and surrender what looks like a position of strength, or bail out the red shite, maybe it’s the influence of our investors that’s starting to show ?

When City were informed of the proposal a couple of days ago do you think we were told that we were 'in' but we would not get a vote in any future decisions.

I don’t necessarily disagree with any of that, but so far this is the only proposal on the table. I would be delighted if City or anyone else wants to put forward an alternative plan

And Liverpool and Utd out of the goodness of their hearts want to share the profits with the EFL, dont make me laugh.
There are shares, and then there are 'shares, A. Imagine a 100 shared between 20 clubs - 5 each! But it could also be 41 for 2 clubs and I for the remaining eighteen!

And the word 'goodness' just isn't an appropriate word to attach to any club that turfed families out of club houses, bought property in streets neighbouring the ground, hacked a club's scouting system, and wrote letters to CAS pleading that our ban should remain whilst the appeal was heard. They are as trustworthy as a crate of rattlesnakes, as odorous as a group of skunks and as friendly as a nest of vermin.

I don't trust anything that has been proposed by the Scousers and Rags, if we are in agreement with the proposals then I am very disappointed in the club.

Anyone who thinks the top clubs are going to just give money away needs to have their bumps felt, they are in it for themselves and nothing else.

Just received this from City OSC and thought I would share it with you.

Please see below from Kevin Parker and act accordingly if you so wish

Everyone should read the "cost controls and related party income" section of this.

I can't believe City would be so negligent as to back this. No way can we be onboard, that section should be renamed the how to stich up City section.

Remember when that wrinkly necked prick John Henry questioned our sponsorship, making snide digs about wanting to see the ' runners up bid ' infering no one else was interested and Etihad had paid over the odds.

Well, back at you, you sneaky, cheating, thieving rat, let's us see the alternatives you've discussed with chief schills Parry and Gill, who else was involved in your plot, can't do it on the pitch with level playing fields, so you contrive and scheme your shitty clubs path back to semi greatness, shame on anyone who goes along with this side show, and I include us in that.

The longer this goes on, the worse it looks for clubs not putting out statements to condemn it. Well done the Hammers even if it was a leak.
Khaldoon knows exactly what has been done to City in recent years by the owners of United and Liverpool. It has been the most despicable campaign of dirty tricks ever seen in football in this country. It has included criminality and corrupt business practice on a huge scale..and that's just the bit that has been in the public domain.
If City don't speak out publically against this naked attempt to take control of our sport by a tiny cartel of people with self-interest then he will destroy trust between between City fans and our club.
If this happens it just means English football will be run by a cartel just as European football has been for decades. We might become part of that cartel but that doesn't make it right.

Yes agree about thin end of wedge (25% good causes money will shrink in size rapidly) but removing the preferred status voting rights makes it much harder to manipulate.

I think the tournaments thing is a side show tbh. Cutting the prem to 18 also brings it into line with other leagues so not averse in principle.

don’t get me wrong - the motives of those bribing all this forward is very worrying which why getting rid of the voting stuff (if the whole thing can’t be gotten rid of) is a must

I don't think it does though. Pretty sure the only 'main' league in Europe with 18 is the Bundesliga. Everyone else has the same 20 that we do.
