United and Liverpool EFL project - proposal rejected

It's the main story on BBC football. I know the beeb has gone down the pan a bit, but they wouldn't make up, a "hammers insider" who said "the club were unaware of the proposals". More than likely someone high up at the club, but doesn't want naming.

Sorry, I wasn't clear what I meant.

I was viewing there to be a difference between the club officially making a statement and an anonymous insider making such comments.

I don't doubt that they know the insider's identity to back their piece up.

If it all comes down to the yank cunts wanting a closed shop, no promotion no relegation amongst other wank ideas then for me that's it. Chasing City around the divisions for me was painfully fantastic fun. Drinking crates of beer in a minibus, throwing swizzel sweets at the driver and getting back at last orders totally bevvied was shit hot, no matter what division we were in. We have seen recently, Wigan, Bournemouth rising to the top. If the rest of the leagues dont want that dream instead of a false payment then we are truly fucked.

Seems there’s some support for this in the lower leagues.

EFL clubs could 'disappear within five to six weeks' - Leyton Orient chairman

But he added: "One thing I need to quash is, this isn't about the pandemic, this is about a crisis in football that goes back many years.

"Before the pandemic, 75% of clubs were losing money - that can't continue. The pandemic has, if you like, exacerbated the problem and we need to get it fixed.

Sounds bad. Think I’ll read some more...

"I know you are talking about 'Project Big Picture' - this is a great proposal as far as we are concerned. It is certainly very promising and clubs need it.

"Something like this has to go through."

Wow. He’s really keen about this idea. Wonder if there’s a catch...

"Just to be brutally honest, I live in Boston [in the United States]. I know [Liverpool owner] John W Henry.

Oh.

Wheres this 800 million a year to the lower leagues coming from. It wasn't available when the premier was drowning in money, it hasn't that money or pull now.
This clumsy, cack-handed power grab is dead in the water. Liverpool Furlough Club and Manure's sudden attack of social conscience has been exposed for what it is. Think about it, Liverpool Furlough and Manure want a say in deciding who should own your club. Laughable.

“Take away the racism and mass genocide, then a lot of the ideas the Nazis had...”

I'd love to know where we stand on this officially as a club, because I strongly suspect the club and its supporter base could be as far apart today as they have ever been.

I have absolutely no interest in where this is aimed, if it was to truly help the EFL then yes I'd be in (the FA can go f**k themselves either way), but I very much doubt this is really what is behind it.

The EPL clubs will or will not disintegrate through the economic situation they are in. It is bugger-all to do with with the Liverpool-United power grab and will or will not happen regardless of the dubious tactic of Ric Parry and his associates.

There may be a financial shit storm on its way for much of Football, but don’t expect any umbrellas from Liverpool or United.

I do wonder whats really going on here? The bigger clubs know this would never get 14 votes required from the PL clubs, its turkeys voting for Christmas for half the league. When smaller clubs start folding they can hold their hands up and say we tried but the others blocked it. Are they looking for a groundswell when one by one the little guys start disappearing? Whatever they're up to will be disgusting, that much is certain.
