United and Liverpool EFL project - proposal rejected

There’s some decent stuff in the proposals. Just take out the bits around special voting rights from certain clubs and jobs a good un......
The voting rights is only part of the problems.
The cutting of the numbers in the league, cancelling the Charity Shield and the League Cup to have a tournament abroad show where this is going, and the broadcasting rights for 8 games a season is the most dangerous.
It doesn't propose an international tournament every 5 years, but every club MUST take part at LEAST every five years.
E.g. year one, Liverpool, Rags, Villa and Leeds are invited to Hong Kong
Year 2, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and Everton are invited to Boston
Year 3, Rags, City, West Ham and Southampton go to Singapore
After 5 years then have a mid season tournament during the winter break as well as pre-season, then in 10 years, have two entire rounds of games played abroad going to cities with the highest bids.
Does anyone really think that clubs able to negotiate and keep their own broadcasting revenue will benefit ANYONE other than the rags?
They will be able to buy any player they want from any competitor, and the ones they don't want Liverpool can buy.

Yes agree about thin end of wedge (25% good causes money will shrink in size rapidly) but removing the preferred status voting rights makes it much harder to manipulate.

I think the tournaments thing is a side show tbh. Cutting the prem to 18 also brings it into line with other leagues so not averse in principle.

don’t get me wrong - the motives of those bribing all this forward is very worrying which why getting rid of the voting stuff (if the whole thing can’t be gotten rid of) is a must

I can't believe anyone is naive enough to not see the connection between this and Soriano's statements last week about how football now has an opportunity to come together and solve a lot of the existing problems the EFL and PL have.

He was paving the way for this announcement.
Or that he knows what the twats are up to and he wants the other clubs to stick together. N

It’s also funny how many journalists and supporters of other clubs are so outraged about these proposals giving the big clubs all the power and money but didn’t say anything about FFP which essentially does the same thing.
They weren't on the shitty end as we were so it didn't become the red hot cannonball that landed in laps. It landed in our lap, so that was alright!
