arrogant adj. having or revealing an exaggerated sense of one's own importance or abilities.

Dan Roan's latest blog http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/danroan/2011/05/what_does_uniteds_continued_su.html#more has the following quote from official representatives of United's supporters.

"We should be fighting for our 20th title, not our 19th. If we'd had the money to keep Tevez and to buy a creative midfielder of the calibre we deserve, we could have done even better."

The bit that got me was the word "deserve". There are only seven occasions since 1992 that United have not won the Premiership, and their fans think they "deserve" more. How arrogant is that? Why do they deserve more success? They don't deserve anything other than a period playing second fiddle, or better still, third, fourth or lower fiddle.

plastic adj. artificial or unnatural: exhibiting adaptability to change or variety in the environment.

The same guy goes on to say, "There's always going to be a large section of the crowd who are happy when we're winning and only come because United are successful..."

A large section of their crowd. Proof positive that their team is supported by a gang of arrogant, insincere glory hunting excuses for fans. I just hope they don't grace us with their presence the next time they go more than 12 months without adding to their trophy haul.
