United (H) Post Match Thread

Going by your Twitter posts at half time you sure did. I never had the feeling it was done. Too many scars for that.
Said exactly that as the idiots started singing "stand up for the champions", 2-0 is never done, and despite playing some great football in that first half, I still thought we looked a little fragile, and 1 goal was likely to change it significantly.

What actually happened didn't surprise me, the build up to us becoming "champions" yesterday was ridiculous, it should have been treated as any other game/derby, not as some sort of party.

It also lost us any chance of recovering on Tuesday night for me.

A spineless second half performance, from manager and players (fans weren't much better, many didn't even come back to their seats until after united scored their first goal).

Nobody was doubting PEP at half time We had 2-3 chances to kill the game .Although Sterling has been great this season he isnt clinical and has missed plenty of chances some of them absolute sitters he scores instinctively when he has to think, ...well thats just it, he overthinks it We could have secured it in the first 45mins sure, but we did not LOSE it then. The game was lost when we went absent allowing them to get a foothold in the game instead of seeing out 10-15 of keeping the ball as we so often do. our bottle went al a Anfield and we tossed the game off. No one person to blame unless like me you wonder after arguably our best performance at Goodison PEP decided to change it. at Anfield and again yesterday When he lost credibility he went against his own mantra to take one game at a time, and it cost us heavily

Exactly mate when we was floundering in mid table, not 2nd in the league behind our rivals.
I say it time and again that we are under their skin and they hate it.
We was the exact same in 2013, whilst being second in the league to our rivals who were going to win it. Was a real sense of pride that night, we’ve let you down this season but that’s for you kind of thing. You mocking it is the most rag like thing going

I can understand them doing that, they have come from 2 down to win a derby and prevent us from winning the league against our local rivals or postponed it for a few weeks, the players need to look at themselves as well 2 up at halftime and come out as if it’s job done shocking complacency especially in defence, and that’s not excusing the cheating cnut of a ref either ..
We're dead on our feet after 45mins and we switch off for 15-20mins and seem to concede these mad flurry of goals. It's been a tough season and we've been sublime and outstanding for all of it bar 3 or 4 games.
Them lot are irrelevant and yesterday was irrelevant.
When we get our name etched on the premier league trophy it isn't going to say 'man city champions 2017-18 but utd beat us, it will say 'man city champions 2017-18'.
We need to get rid of the obsession with them lot.

You sound like a rag mate as do most of your posts.
There you go. 1 a piece.

I'm specifically talking about the 2nd half.

Crowd & players came out as if it was easy. That's not bottling it, it is arrogance.

I don't know what happened to the crowd but I actually commented at half time after returning from the concourse how so many people looked miserable. Rampant Cityitis?

The team got it wrong from the off, even the long ball forward kick-off was an error in my mind. I though we should have looked to keep possession straight away and not give them a stiff. TBF, more in hindsight, I might have made a change at HT to the team. Not that many would agree with my idea, which would have been to bring Yaya on for Bernardo and let him play a deep nine role and just help to slow things down and keep the ball; plus have someone out there who actually might not bottle it. I would describe it as bottling the last two games. I agree the players probably thought it was done but then didn't cope when the Rags scored. I definitely think it was more of a mental problem than physical or technical so I'm sticking with bottling it.
