United (H) Post Match Thread

We reverted back to the City of last season, one chance one goal...

Should of drew at least but we were robbed by the ref. Clear red and penalty for Young foul on Sergio being the standout crime. Young handful was also likely. Smalling also looked offside to me for his goal but not exactly sure.

They got away with many many fouls without cards.

The way we conceded 3 games was embarrassing but the game should of finished at 3-3 worst case scenario

We have an attack of champions and a defence of relegation fodder. In spite of it not saying that statistically it is true. Teams have been terrified to attack us for fear of what will happen at the other end but as Liverpool and the rags found out if you do we crack and alarmingly easily.

Of course they gamble doing it. The rags had nothing to lose yesterday. At 0-2 down and being embarrassed for their pride they had to respond. They were buoyed that at 0-2 they were still in the game when in reality it could have been 5 or 6. I think in the second half mental and physical fatigue hit us. Like a marathon runner hitting the wall so did we.

My fear is we must be mentally and physically drained after last night. If we had won given the high we would have carried into Tuesday I would have felt more confident. Now the opposite is true. Like yesterday I have no doubt we will give it a good go up front but our Achilles heel at the back is always waiting to deflate us.

come off it. thats a complete overreaction. relegation fodder ???? pretty much all season we've had one of the best defenses in the league. statistically its true, but apparently that counts for nothing.

They can’t be our rivals and irrelevant at the same time, make your mind up. Pretend not to care about yesterday, if that’s how you get through it then that’s fine. How dare they fist pump and celebrate though, proper small time init.
It is small time mate. When we won there in 2013 the celebrating at the end was hollow as we'd only won a match against them lot, it didn't stop them winning the league but we have always played second fiddle to them lot.
You see we've been dumbed down from them lot for years, lived in their shadow for decades, so any win we got against them meant more.
Them lot called us ickle citeh, irrelevant, not important, meant nothing to them in that same period, wouldn't even class us as their rivals but now all of a sudden they look at us and treat us very differently. To see them celebrate yesterday just echoes all those years they mocked us for being shit yet there they was wooping it up.
I think what I'm trying to say is they was our rivals when we was shit and they are our rivals now we're a top team. The never classed us as rivas until we started winnin things. Yes I was gutted yesterday but looking at the bigger picture they won't stop us winning the league and yesterday will become irrelevant in the end when we lift the prem.
Bit long winded but had to try and explain.
Cheers.
Bertie.

Bar a complete disaster?
You don't think we'll do a Devon loch do you?
Its easy to assume we won't, but we've collapsed twice in 4 days. Lose on Tuesday night, and we will head to Spurs away with 3 defeats on the bounce, that is horrible form, and there is no getting away from it, and lose that while United play West Brom at home, and things will look quite different. Luckily we follow with Swansea and West Ham, so it should be enough.
