United (H) Post Match Thread

It was a bit strange of the ****s singing our 50'000 Empty seats song on abt 85 mins. The place was still full to the rafters

We looked knackered in the second half I think that was down to the game on Wednesday. The thing that upsets me the most is leaving Walker KDB and Kun on the bench
Pep would be a poor coach if he picked sides with the intention of keeping fans happy with the selection - playing all their fav players. He takes a more detached view - and quite right too. Within football, he’s regarded as the best there is.

He's a great manager but he gets things wrong too.
His CL record since leaving Barcelona for instance isn't particularly good.
Pep gets all the plaudits going from me but he isn't perfect

But better qualified than any of us fans to judge who should play and how they should play.

A fans opinion has no consequences, a manager's does. Pep has a lot of football capital with us, he's spent a chunk of it these last couple of games, he's still got plenty in reserve, but it's time to top it up.

I've been in a pissed off mood since the result on Saturday. I've never been so flat afterwards and that includes losing the FA cup final against Wigan. Going from complete joy at half-time to throwing it all away at full time compounded to the misery. However, I consoled myself with the thought that despite missing this golden opportunity, i can't bare to imagine how the Rags would have felt when Kun scored. That would have been a million times worse.

Onto your point about Pep losing football capital with us after the Derby, I think that's a wrong view to have as he didn't really get a lot wrong in the game. They had 4 shots on target and scored 3 goals, we wasted at least 5 golden opportunities after scoring 2. We hit the woodwork twice, should have had two penalties and they should have been down to 10 men.

On reflection of the game, there is no doubt that we should have won that but poor finishing and referring cost us that game far more than Pep did.

On the contrary the opinion of fans matter quite a lot particularly when a large number of them don't like what the manager is doing. What ever happens in the coming weeks this looks set to be a very good season and we are back to the position we were in after Pellers first season . How we build on that success is the key. Hopefully we will continue to move forward and not stagnate like the last time.
