United (H) Post Match Thread

I think we should calm down and for once I agree with Maureen, I can still remember when we would have been up in arms and shouting conspiracy if we had really tough away games before a Derby. When you are both battling desperately for a place in the Thursday night cup, Bournemouth is the last place you want to visit before a derby.
JM mentioned our immediately previous games as easy compared to theirs.
Surely we made them easy just as we did with the United..
Let them bask in the result against Juv. with CL presumably their priority.

Here are some shocking stats:

From the 57th minute till the final minute, Lukaku had 8 touches.

Alexis Sanchez came on in the 72nd minute and had 1 completed pass the entire match.

Phil Foden came on in injury time and had more completed passes than Sanchez and Lukaku combined had the entire match.

Stuff like this is just staggering to think about. How badly coached are United, how devoid of any semblance of attacking patterns are they, if Sanchez had 1 pass in 21 minutes and their number 9 had 8 touches in 35 minutes?

you are looking at it from the wrong angle mate, those stats are because we did not allow them to have the ball, so its no wonder their touches and passes are so bad

Well, I’ll call it, I think Pep’s pretty wrong on that Sterling incident. Does he have any idea of the piss taking, and general arrogance, that was inflicted on us by their manager , by their supporters and yes, by their players, for twenty years? Loved Raz for giving a tiny bit of it back. What he did was mild by comparison with some of their stuff. And anyway, the lad’s twenty-three, for God’s sake. Cut him some slack, Pep.
No, the real rocket should be reserved for Eddie. His passing is simply unreal, his shot stopping’s very handy, but he’s got to cut that shit out now. United were dead and buried. Suddenly, after the penalty, there was an edgy feeling both in the stadium, and in the team, for about ten minutes. Don’t do it, Ed. You’re better than that.

I explained to Mrs Ewing that there was general delight across the nation when FakeRon indulged in similar showboating. Oh, how the RDAHMeedya loved the little scamp. Funny how it's dressed up as disrepectful when Sterling does it. I say bollocks!

I've watched the third goal a few times now...Ferna was absolutely superb for it. Constantly moving into space, head on a swivel, just brilliant

That is true. But they're not a 4th division team. There's no reason a premiership team should be that bad and put out an incoherent mess of an attack.
Most of it would have to do with our approach, which - as you said, suffocated them and didn't allow them to hold the ball match. But part of it was their poor approach.

These are glorious days my friends. The gulf in class in players, in the way the teams play and the way the clubs are run is something I could only ever dream of during the dark days. We are light years ahead of them in every department and their arrogance and ignorance towards us has been replaced with fear and despair.

Let's quietly keep our foot on the bastard's throats whilst never stooping to the levels of obnoxious arrogance they had over us when the GPC had everyone in his hip flask pocket.

What a time to be a BLUE!!!!!

The only way they are getting in next season's is by winning it this season, or the Union of Exceptional Farceurs and Arseholes inviting teams back in a similar way to FatScouseGit getting back into the England team. The first is a delusional long shot, but the second is a distinct possibility!

What does he do stay on his line and let Lukaku fire a shot off, real issue is someone should be tracking runners rather than watching the ball.

He was never winning that ball, just like he wasn't winning the ball against Southampton, stupid mistakes and Lukaku was going absolutely nowhere, let him have a shot from a stupid angle all day every day. I can see what happens, if you have very little to do it must be hard to not have a rush to the head wanting to get involved, especially someone of Edersons character but it was completely unnecessary and put what was a one sided game then in the balance.
