United (H) Post Match Thread

It's no good watching utd last 3 or so matches it means nothing Pep. When they play us they raise their game 200%. Pep needs to remember this, it's a derby, a team that uses our Citys name that arent in or from Manchester. They now bang on that Manchester is red even though they are from Trafford.
We dont say Trafford is blue ! So utd piss of back to Trafford you are nothing to do with Manchester.

I hope Pep understands how bad it feels to lose to this lot. I really hate the fact they can use our Citys name. We have a team using our name now claiming our City is red and arent even from our City. They are a fake Manchester club.

Think I need a lie down in a darken room :(

Still gutted this morning that our winning run is over, especially as we didn't play as well as we all know we can and because it's the scum.

Not a nice feeling to wake up with this Monday morning, in saying that though only 2 days until we play Southampton and hopefully can bounce back in style, like we have done previously when we have had a disappointing result in the previous game.

The league has always been a marathon and never a sprint. Still 11 clear and +37 on GD with 10 games to go.

As I said yesterday was rubbish and hurts but we dust ourselves down and go again.
Agreed, watch the rags go and get beaten by west ham next.

For me this loss would have more impact if the rags somehow sorted their total inconsistency out and started to regularly beat the other teams in the league.

This is the danger, the same as with the dippers. They fixed the inconsistency, then they eventually beat us which made them believe.

Now unfortunately the rags have recently got better results against us already, if this lot were somehow to resolve that inconsistency then we would have a bigger problem facing us.

It does seem that they should at some point fix it, but then maybe they wont. What we need to do though is start winning the derbie games again to assert dominance over them. We are slowly losing that

fine margins i guess, if either of those two chances go in we potentially have a different game, i'm not denying they deserved it, but as you allude to KDB is the problem and the system employed played into thier hands
kev by his very nature tries passes noone else does and when they dont come off we get countered.
their team line up would of alarmed me straight away it was obvious counter was the plan
and a gabby brain fart didnt help

Agreed, but it was all a little too comfortable for United still at the back.

I'm not even sure what Kevin's current role in the team is?

This will no doubt sound harsh, but he has forgotten the thing which makes him so special, his unselfishness.

IMO, this season he has been playing the game much more for himself, essentially a free role, but seemingly more intent on shooting at goal, attempting more 'Hollywood' passes.

A lot of the top players do this when they know how good they are, maybe don't want to trust other players to do the job?

I genuinely think we might have already seen peak De Bruyne from a fitness point of view, there have been tell-tale signs for about a year that while he will catch the eye when he does attempt to press and chase down, he is now more akin to Sergio in this respect, rather than Jesus, in his intelligence of doing it effectively?

Sometimes one of your most potent weapons can also be a weakness, so I would like to see Kev operate the false nine a lot more, rather than be just a big name body into the standard midfield three.

i think Wan Bissaka has completely controlled Sterling for about 4 or 5 of the last derbies now, he's got him completely figured. Strange Pep picked him to face him again.

Lots of things went wrong, simple passes, finishing was all off, press was weak, huge gaps between front 4 and back 6, just wrong. Nevermind, we were always going to lose soon, shame it had to be against them

A healthy dose of reality heading into the business end of the season.

Leicester are our main threat.
They keep plodding along quietly picking up wins.
They seem to be building up a head of steam at the right time.
I think that we will win the league but the gap to second could well be around 6 points.

Not a chance mate, they are hanging in by skin of their teeth already.

Taken apart by Arsenal and a late goal at Brighton.

They are really suffering with injuries to Maddison and Barnes, with Vardy also right on the limit with his hammy.

They will try and stay top four and throw everything at their FA Cup game with United.

Foden came on and he get past him, put a lot more urgency into our play. The subs came way too late in the game to get us back in it.

It wasn't all Gabbys fault.
Martial was looking for any excuse to go down so he ran towards the most crowded part of the 18yd box where he knew that there would be some kind of contact and went down. Soft pen.
it was but there was enough cover, he didn't need to challenge

will be interesting to see pep's team selection wednesday, bernie and phil are certain starters for me for their energy and skill sets
