United (H) Post Match Thread

Lmao the arrogance.

Our first 8 fixtures in the league (Aka before Kev got injured and Pep had to play our best team)

Played 8
Lost 2
Drawn 3
Won 3

Anyone wanking themselves after watching Pep sacrifice the team for the individual, you’re going to be in for a rough ride.
You have made those stats up, let’s be honest. Kev played the first 8 games of the 21 match winning streak and was then injured for the next 7 before returning.

Yes true, but we won with different formations, today aggressive players were missing.
Bernardo, Gundogan, and Rodri in the middle, and Foden, Jesus, and Sterling attacking. why pep disturbing that rhythm and flow? for the sake of De Bruyne?
I would be more than happy to lose to these every year if we then go on to win the league, we are now their cup final and they won the battle not the war.
I can’t argue about the winning the league bit but there is absolutely no reason to lose to this lot. We are superior to them in almost every position yet we seem to freeze when we play them. It’s hard to understand and when you have been a City fan as long as I have it still hurts to lose to them. We need to beat them and win the league.

We are a better team playing without a recognised striker. The Anfield, Stamford Bridge, and Old Trafford in the league cup performances suggest that.

Sterling should maybe sit out the next few derby days. Hes one of the few who makes Wan Bissaka look like a good footballer twice a season.

Other than that can't really say much, we could still be playing now and wouldn't have scored.

Move on, 21 wins in a row is now over, time to start a new run
Spot-on. Until we get a world-class striker or Sergio back we should stick to the system that has worked for us in the big games ie swamping people in midfield and picking them off.

Every team selection is controversial on here. Literally every game thread has people arguing over the team, not happy with Mahrez or Sterling or Jesus or Walker or go back a few months and it was Zinchenko or Stones or Gundogan or Rodri that Pep was being stubborn with and not picking the side Bluemoon wanted.

When we win, like we did 21 times in a row, it's all just forgotten and swept under the rug, and when we lose it's immediately "I told you so before kick off, Pep's too stubborn" etc. etc.

If you concede inside 30 seconds selection becomes pretty irrelevant. Pep doesn't pick a side to come back from 1-0 down.
So by half time his mindset should have changed to one of a team coming from 1-0 down...but he did nothing to change a team that clearly was being outplayed/out fought ?? We didnt look like doing anything until the late substitutions and the greatest goalscorer weve got sat in the stands ?? hes either fit or not or on his way out .....dont just leave him sat there ??

I think Pep has class and always congratulates the winner, always has done and it’s the right thing to do.
I would hate him to be a classless loser like Bingo or Bacon face.
So would I KRB but there is being a gracious loser and being over generous with your praise.

I didn’t watch the game granted but from reports from fans of other clubs I am getting the feeling that we actually played better than them and whilst Pep didn’t have to say that he could just have said they played well without calling out our players. :-)

KDB is a fantastic player with many qualities but we are a better balanced team without him IMO.
There is an option for him to play wide on either flank whilst he gets his fitness and sharpness back-the amount of times he turned over possession today was a huge handicap for us and he doesn't have the legs to press either-one of the reasons we have been so good defensively (ie Bernie in the middle).

Another. What’s a fucking league title when ur losing to ur rivals. Yeah i wanna win everything but ultimately theres no better feeling than getting one over them cunts
Ok,fair enough.

If we win the title this season I won't bother celebrating because we lost at home to united!

What do people think of our 2 penalty shouts? First one looked like a penalty to me, obviously dismissed by Neville - no replay of second one though

Well let's go back to the good old days when we were happy beating united and getting relegated!

Couldn't give a fuck who we beat, draw with or lose to in the season. The final league table is all that matters.

We are now their cup final, how times have changed.
Some truth, some bollocks. Every City gives a fuck about losing to United.

On Pep that.....another of his infrequent but famous brain farts.

The team selection was wrong from the start, and im not convinced he understands what the Derby means.....you play your best players in your best 11.

Anyway.....on a positive, hopefully its treated as a wake up call for the CL.
Have to disagree. Pep knows more about formations and team selection than you and any other fan on here will know even if you live to be a hundred. Individual errors and a strange inability to strike the ball properly when it mattered by several players are the reasons we lost. It happens - albeit not often for us.

The reinvention the team is dismantled when Foden and Bernie don't play.

De Bruyne and Sterling are the two main problems, being picked on rep alone.

Love Pep for many things, but it doesn't require £20m a season to see what the solutions are.

He doesn't care enough about this fixture clearly, or he has again shit the bed when he considers the qualities of the opponent more than his own team.

Lucky not to concede six today.
Nailed it mate totally agree

It is what it is, I had a feeling we would get beat and when I saw the team I knew we would. The rags have one attribute, pace, they are seriously quick. Pep left out Walker, Silva, Foden, Fernandinho and picked all our slower players.
Fair enough, 11 points clear, they would love to be us.
Sums it up for me mate.
Plus the Sterling selection.
When you need to take your chances he's the wrong choice.
I still haven't got over the Lyon game.

First one was a clear penalty i thought.

the ref had a poor game. Let Fernandes foul as he liked and yap at him after every decision, and there was a time Wan Bisakka kicked it out for a corner he gave a goal kick

Utd counterattack merchants.....Walker on the bench...
Foden fired up.....on the bench....did more when he came on...
Bernado..Utd cant handle him, always scores...on the bench...
Fern...penades in his pocket...on the bench...

FF sake........Pep....... what are you thinking ??????????????

Win our next 2 games and that puts us 17 clear before United kick a ball. That mentaly should destroy them.

Against any other team we would of stood a better chance of getting one
