United Thread 2015/16

Very disappointed by the treatment I have received on the redcafe website:

Although a City fan, I have enjoyed discussing the plight of Manchester Utd on their website (Redcafe). Unlike this one, the forums are split - newbies and full members, and I could only ever post in the newbie section. I was careful not to be too antagonistic, although I recently have suggested that Sir Alex Ferguson being shown looking 'glum' at the end of away matches, such as the loss to Liverpool, was possibly undermining their transition. I also said that Sir Bobby Charlton and SAF may be still blocking the Jose Mourinho appointment (which I would actually like to see, if only because it would be interesting to have Pep vs Mourinho in Manchester!)

Anyway, I tried to log-on last Friday to receive this message:

"The moderators have reviewed your account and you have been permanently banned for quality control reasons. This means you have repeatedly made poor quality posts and/or received rule violation warnings."

I think it is harsh, I have always made carefully considered and well written posts (IMO!) plus I have not had any warnings. I fear that in the aftermath of the Europa Cup defeat to Liverpool I was just 'banned' cos the mood was grim following that match. It means I can no longer access the 'Newbies' section, where I had started several posts that were being debated in interesting ways, but now they are blocked off to me. I can now only see the main forum and I cannot comment there.

Has anyone else had similar treatment? Is there an appeals process, because I think my human rights, in a country with 'freedom of speech', have been significantly curtailed.

Sounds like you've been unlucky there mate because at least you're trying to debate with them. I joined up in 2009 at the time of the Tevez Welcome to Manchester poster and earned myself a temporary ban for calling Ferguson Baconface. Fair dos that but once I got back on I managed to keep my powder dry. I say managed because even though I got involved in some decent debates on there, I also had a fair few run-ins and never took a backward step if I thought someone was talking bollocks about City. In fact, I even got rep points off a mod for ripping the shit out of a Liverpool fan!

I don't bother posting on there anymore because I found myself engaging too much with the gimps plus I was getting dangerously close to getting promoted and it really would've been carnage if that had happened!

I would add that they ban a lot of their own fans too so it's not just an anti-City thing. It does seem inconsistent though - decent posters can end up with a ban yet there are some utter weapons up in the main forum.

It's hard going onto forums of other clubs, they're so set in their delusional ways that any attempts to say otherwise is seen as an attack.

Haha small time twats. Players stood there holding a can of engine oil. Dear me, how the mighty have fallen.

I read this extract by someone called Arnold who I have never heard of, saying

'Through this partnership we will further our commitment to reach our fans around the world, especially in Asia.'

No big words in there but I cannot work out what it actually means in theory or practice.

Is David Brent writing meaningless bollocks-speeches for United?

Haha. I've always though that Gulf Oil was a predominantly UK and American Company?

"Gulf Oil was founded on Texas oil and is based in London and Masschusetts"
