I have been told by a very gutted United mate tonight that Rooney still has 3 years left on his £300,000 a week contract.....and he reckons that Rooney is basically finished as a top player. I have to agree as his legs have already gone. You've got to give it to Rooney though....he must be one hell of a businessman to get a deal like that...haha!!!

TBF to Shrek he would probably get the same if not more in China which is where I think he might be heading this summer.

Martial is nothing like ''world class'' not yet at least, he's clearly got ability but I think he's had an extremely easy time of it so far in the Premier League... defenders seem to just stand off him and allow him to run and run at them unchallenged.

Martial is a good player in the making. If we had signed him I would be happy with his progress. What him being good has got to do with Sterling I'm not sure. Why do the two have to be connected? We were never in for Martial so not Really relevant.

That is correct. Moyes could not be seen to be the manager who sold Rooney so gave in to his demands for a five year £300k a week contract.

He is declining as a player and no longer the player he was. Now a problem for them.

United were saved last summer by the last minute deals for Martial and De Gea. Hopefully Madrid will be back for DDG.

Sterling gets more respect from opposition managers and defenders Martial doesn't he gets the freedom of the last 3rd double up or treble up on him like the treatment Sterling gets he would struggle.

We'll have to disagree about that. Someone mentioned martial being like a theo Walcott,but to me sterling looks much more like a Walcott type (very fast but technically very limited) than martial does. I'd love to be wrong, but I think a few people here are seeing sterling through blue tinted specs.

I suppose it depends what we're disagreeing on. There is no doubt Martial looks a good player, looks far better than Sterling at the moment and is an excellent prospect, but World Class? No. He isn't even close. That's not to say he won't become a very good footballer and he may elevate himself to that status one day but he's certainly not there now.

Every Time Martial scores there's some fucker on here within seconds to tell everyone that Utd got the better deal and Sterling isn't very good. It's a shite mentality. Like you say, who gives a flying fuck.
