So they’re as hypocritical as Emirates sponsored Arsenal.....brilliant, just brilliant
If you read that thread on rag cafe about pep being a hypocrite wearing his yellow ribbon, they are very disparaging about the UAE, particuarly Saudi Arabia, and Qatar calling them human rights abusers. Yet 1 of their financial partners are are owned by the goverment of Dubai and another has sheikhs from the ruling royal family of Qatar. Their media partner Saudi telecoms is owned by the Saudi goverment

Yes they are hypocrites. They know nothing of their own club.

McTomiknocker plays three games for the Rags and England & Scotland are clamouring for his services , he will follow Darrren Fletcher's career path to West Brom.
There will be a call from Mr Gill to postpone the voting in young player of the year for a few weeks so the new next best thing since the last new best thing can get nominated

Wilson Litchmore said:
I think since clubs spending was more about their owners money than what they generated themselves certainly in this country, for me I see it as the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. A definition of a big club was very much about their history on world football. There are clubs like AC Milan that haven't won anything for a long time but I'd still say are a big club. It seems that 'new money' buys you great players and managers which is enough to call you a big club. It's funny as the more it's just about money, the more it devalues clubs achievements. The PL has more significance for those who haven't won it. Chelsea lifting the trophy was quickly forgotten and it's all about the here and now. If city win it by 20 points yet don't win the CL, it will be no better achievement than previous managers. Attracting big players is positive but I'm sure players didn't come there to emulate the achievements of Colin Bell. I think big clubs still attract players because of their history. The badge still counts for your position in world football.

For me they will never be big clubs cause no matter if someone puts a billion pounds into where I'm from say Birmingham City, Aston Villa will always be a bigger club. New money can't buy you History.

They're on fire for posting absolute shite. I'm so glad this Brummie rag has put us in our place. Even if what he was saying was true, can he not get his head around the fact that since his team has gotten big on the backs of glory supporters that have no connection to the club then that success is surely just as 'fake' as having a rich owner inject money into the team?

They don`t like it and are trying to take their ball home

It's so funny watching utd fight it out for second place. Guaranteed there will be a few of their fans still thinking they can win the league, frantically working out our fixtures against theirs and believing that we'll slip up in the next few games.
I might cancel washing my hair tonight and tune into their match with the world's most massive grin plastered on my fat blue face.

His last paragraph has got the magic words ‘never’ and ‘always’; a sure signpost for a fool whose knowledge of his club’s history is in inverse proportion to the frequency in which he talks about the subject.

Before WW2,City were a bigger club than united. Then they weren’t. Things can change. It’s why Preston haven't won the league every season since 1888. In his tiny mind, the possible, is impossible. Football, frozen in time; a time of his choosing, to dovetail with his own insecurities.

Absolutely they were, but try explaining this to Rags and they just stare at you. It's amazing what a long run
of success, which they certainly had, skews the thought processes of fans, it overrules rationality, and the blind absorption of
of the present makes the mind blind to any disparaging facts. Well, for them, the present is starting to take on a much more
sinister outlook, and this petulant lashing out is part of a gratifying, for us, process of bewilderment and outrage.
And the glorious upshot is?
I's only going to get worse.

It’s pitiful that some people are spoon-fed so easily. It shouldn’t require a lot of effort for someone to read up on a subject they claim to care about. Instead, they’d rather accept what they’ve been told, because it makes them feel better about themselves and their reasons for supporting their football club. Rag propaganda is the opium of its (more simple) supporters.

I see the MUEN is at it again with this headline.------

Chelsea gave Man City HUGE respect but will Jose Mourinho's Man United do the same?

Manchester United could need a win at Man City next month to stop them winning the Premier League - but will they be as negative as Antonio Conte's team?

"I think big clubs still attract players because of their history. The badge still counts for your position in world football."
That bit, in particular, is absolute bullshit. Even the people running their club don't believe that nonsense anymore, hence why they had to double our wage offer to get Sanchez. Why would any footballer give a flying fuck about history? It's their own careers and legacies that matter to them, and quite rightly so.

Money and the potential to win things in the future will always attract players much more than being able to say they play for a club that was pretty good 15 years ago. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just deluding themselves.
