That bit, in particular, is absolute bullshit. Even the people running their club don't believe that nonsense anymore, hence why they had to double our wage offer to get Sanchez. Why would any footballer give a flying fuck about history? It's their own careers and legacies that matter to them, and quite rightly so.

Money and the potential to win things in the future will always attract players much more than being able to say they play for a club that was pretty good 15 years ago. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just deluding themselves.

If the history argument was even remotely true then Mbappe would be at Notts Forest. It's fucking laughable.

Oh yeah 100%. If this were true why would anyone have ever gone to Red Bull in Formula 1 when they could have gone to Ferrari?

Why don't Preston, Blackburn, Forest and Blackpool get the players that sign for Bournemouth and Brighton etc?

It's a load of shite from an idiot, on a board for idiots about a team that attracts idiots like a turd attracts flies.

Villa and Forest have both won the European Cup , so if players do sign for clubs because of their history it would make sense that Sergio would be plying his trade for the last few seasons manfully trying to drag one of these two clubs out of the Championship , absolute bullshit from supporters of a PLC/football club on the decline and with a selective memory.

Exactly. It's utter bollocks. I don't deny that United still have a fair bit of pull but that's as much to do with their financial clout than anything else. Without that, does this muppet think they could attract players like Sanchez because of "the badge"? If United were only in a position to match City's wage offer to Sanchez then he'd have told them to fuck off and shove their history up their arse!

The Rags badge means NOTHING , if any player in the world was offered the same contract by both clubs the player would choose City and Pep Guardiola over the Rags , every man and his dog knows Sanchez signed for PEG because he was offered a salary too good to turn down ,and it wasnt just a few grand more per week , it was DOUBLE our offer of remuneration. Since 2009 we have become the Rags and Woodward's nightmare scenario , they are desperately throwing money and calling in all their favours with the media to stay relevant in comparison to us , Glazers will only go so far , they are businessmen and will admit defeat rather than damage their investment.

Has anyone got or know where to get the clip of paddy Barclay on Sunday supplement saying something along the lines of Peps heart would have sunk when he heard Jose was going to United

More of a retirement home these days. That's why they desperately give the likes of Martial the world class tag, as he's about the level they will attract. They'll go all out for Bale this summer and laud it as some swoop if they get him. All they see is 'united + Bale'(or whoever), and never the bigger picture.
