Always will be. I see no chance of this situation changing. Not in my lifetime.

Could they be any further up their own arse?To be fair to the comb-over king his words have certainly become more and more prophetic with the passage of time
"I am looking forward a lot to next year because Manchester United is not renowned for being second."
How about seventh instead :-)
Fake attendances!True. Someone should ask Alistair MacGowan of the BBC, he's big on false attendance figures, I recall.
That followed - if you remember the Michael Knighton takeover was happening in Sept 89 (one of the main reasons why MUFC didn't sack Fergie - forget all this rewriting of history now saying how the board were patient and supportive; the board were in chaos not knowing who should make the decisions). The floatation was a desperate (but profitable in the end) act to bring income in after the Knighton takeover fell apart and the Stretford End rebuild needed funding. Thanks for this Gary,
I’d known about Davies and Gibson (unlike most rags I mention this to) but I hadn’t realised the debt gamble made at this time. I’d always thought that the investment at this time had come from the stock market floatation?
