I assume if they actually hired Rio it would be Woodward telling him to sit in the corner for a few million a year and let Ed carry on running the show, then in 2 years when things don't improve, Rio can fall on his sword and they'll hire Nani or Anderson to replace him.
Surely Djemba Djemba would be a better bet or Ralph Milne. It would be like us asking Richard Dunne or Andy Morrison to come and replace Txixi.

The Glazers are just giving the moronic fans what they want. Another ex-player from the glory days in a key role because the only way they will achieve success in the future is by reliving the stories of the past. Wio can join OGS around the camp fire with all their media buddies regaling the world on how it used to be and because they were there, it’s guaranteed they will recreate that success.

What a load of bollocks. Like the Liverpool boot room bollocks everything has it’s time and comes to an end. The rags need to reinvent not recycle.
Just heard Mitten and Ogden on a podcast discussing the rags putting in an offer to Pep. Apparently they think he would be up for a challenge with a big club if enough money was offered, Ogden also claimed most City players would be glad to see Pep leave because of the pressure he puts them under.

They seem to be overlooking Paul Ince for some reason. Surely the self-styled ‘Guv’nor would be ideal. Has all the requisite qualities: boundless arrogance, vastly misplaced confidence in his own abilities, total lack of self- awareness, thick as pig shit and a complete arsehole.

Haha and utd players would welcome that I suppose.

How does that preclude Wio?

That is the funniest thing I've heard in weeks.

They don't get it do they? Pep is more likely to take another year off when he leaves City or run as the President of Catalonia. He calls his own tune and money has never been his prime motivation. A lot will depend on what his family wants.
Personally I hope we say to him: "Take a year's rest and then come back in a major role for the City Football Group."
He has revolutionised football in Spain, Germany, and now England so it is possible he may fancy doing the same in Italy with Juventus. I also think Italy is the sort of place he would like to live for a bit. There is too much interference from above at United for a person like him.
