Apart from the PL rules that say clubs can be held responsible for their fans' behaviour and that clubs have to ensure safe access to the stadium for players, officials and broadcasters. It is unlikely that the postponed game between Manchester United and Liverpool could be played after the end of the season due to the proximity to the delayed European Championships, which begin on June 5. [Henry Winter]
Manchester United won't face any punishment as the match was called off on safety grounds, after yesterday’s protests against the ownership of the club by the Glazer family, and thus United are not in breach of any Premier League rules. [Henry Winter]
They could have had it as the dippers end of season party if it hadn't already occurred in FebruaryThey could just rearrange the fixture for the day after the season ends and have it as an annual season closer and give the winner a trophy. Give both of them a trophy, fuck it. Call it the 'Istry Boys Big 2 Grandfathers of Football European Royalty Trafford and Merseyside Sky TV Super Cup. Come on, it's what all us fans of lesser clubs really want!
Unfortunately, they can’t be banned from the Thursday Night Cup, as it doesn’t fall under the Premier League’s (nor the FA's) auspices.I'm absolutely fucking seething over this, I don't want to see united play another fixture this year. That should be it for them, hit the backwards neanderthals where it hurts, all future fixtures for them including the eufa Cup should be awarded to the opposing teams as wins and they shouldn't be allowed to play in Europe next year. THAT would teach them a lesson, they'd lose their best players and it would financially hurt them too. I work for the emergency services and ANY assault an emergency services worker should be the harshest sentence possible. We're still in a fucking pandemic for God's sake. It's not over its not finished and these knob jockeys are acting like this. Fuck United love the Glazers. I'm absolutely furious but feel the FA will do fuck all as per usual. Had this been us (and we know what bad ownership looks like (Swales) and every team in the land would be looking to punish us) they'd be baying for our blood in regards to titles etc.
Bollocks. It’s the second time in 4/5 years they have failed to fulfill a fixture at a moments notice, they got away with it the first time but can’t now.I don't agree that United 'the club' should have points docked because their fans were out of control. Ultimately the stewards employed by United have very little power to stop protesters. If any blame is to be attached it should land squarely on the fans who took part. Criminal charges should follow for those who attacked the police.
Also the police might want to consider why their intelligence was non-existence for this event that everyone but them seemed to be aware was going to happen.
True, but sometimes nice to weed them outI appreciate the cutting to the chase, saves us all time
I don't think the Glazers are ruining anything, think they are doing a wonderful job.The sad facts are united was never in debt till 2005 when the glazers took over and put them in debt.
Owners shouldn’t be able to do this and the fact they take dividend payments out of the club is morally wrong.
I understand the united fans frustration and I believe all of us as fans should unite to stop these evil people ruining our football clubs.
