They’re caught between a rock and a hard place
If the talk of knocking down old toilet and rebuilding a new stadium is to be believed, you’re looking at having to play at a smaller stadium somewhere, which obviously leads to a revenue decrease.
Build a new stadium, cost somewhere between 1-1.5 billion, so do they take the Arsenal/Spurs route of stadium expenditure over players?
If, and it’s a big if, Pogba walks, Cavani, Matic,Mata, Ronaldo, Rashford wants out, Martial out, that’s 7, sure they’ll save a huge wedge on wages, but they still have to replace, not being in champions league will effect the calibre of player willing to ply their trade there, or they will throw ridiculous money to attract players.
But luckily they can rely on their amazing academy.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the swamp

The Etihad is miles away from being a sparkling new super stadium. It’s quite shit in many aspects. The Etihad’s roof leaks but at OT it’s miles worse. The outside surroundings of the Etihad are horrible but at OT it’s miles worse. The Etihad is already dated and it’s already being left behind by many other actual sparkling new super stadiums and revamped stadiums.

But it’s still miles better than Old Toilet.

OT does have fucking miles better transport links than the Etihad though.

The Etihad is where 50000 + turn up every other week to watch the Champions play.

It serves up mesmeric football on the whole and has hosted numerous trophy platform celebrations on the pitch., notwithstanding being home to the most iconic moment in PL history, a moment that will live forever, a moment burned into every rag and dipper's memory..

It's a brilliant stadium..!

My mate said on a group chat last night that the red should’ve stopped the game in the build up to the goal as someone had collapsed in the east stand

I said are you sure you heard it right and the east stand didn’t collapse

thought I’d put it on here cos I was quite proud of my joke :)

part of me wants them to build a new stadium just so Neville gets stuck with a white elephant shit hotel to service the Lou macari chippy.
