Varane is obviously talented but he was garbage for Madrid last season and even worse in the two legged tie v us.

It's good in some ways because they've finally got to start winning which brings pressure on them itself.

Add to that the fact they're most talented player wants to go to PSG and suddenly they're left with Fred and McTominay.

They have a very good squad on paper, but they've had a good squad on paper for basically every season since Moyes left. Unless Solskjaer can make them dangerous and effective while retaining 60% of the ball, they're going to be finishing 3rd and losing big knockout games for as long as he's there. They're very, very good at being compact and hitting teams on the break, but they flounder all over the place whenever a team sits deep against them and they have to work out a way of slowly unpicking the lock. It doesn't matter how many world class players they sign, you don't win trophies playing this style. Leicester are basically the only team who've managed it, but even they only finished on 81 points, which has only been enough to win the Premier League twice in the last 20 years.

Why would Madrid let the best defender in the world leave? As for the scum, they will always have good players but as we have seen, putting all the pieces together to win a trophy is not so easy. I will go out in a limb and say they will finish 3rd with a cup…progress;)

Sadly this spells the end of OGS. He will be expected to deliver now. He wont.
That’s a good point, it’s one thing to not deliver but to not deliver after outspending your rivals? There is no coming back from that.

Well the answer to the first question is easy, they are broke. As for the rags I think you might be right.

They have done well to get their targets in to be fair but they are still shit!

It's more fundamental than that. I watch utd and I see rashford not trying, Martial not bothered, Pogba if he tries, Fred caught in the headlights, talent like lingard going elsewhere and being the world class player utd couldn't realise.

I don't know what it is but there seems to be something not quite together at that club, not everyone pulling in the same direction and the media spotlight making it all high pressure. They don't seem as if they're a team like lfc and City where the players all play for each other. We will see, Varane looks good, let's see if he's really up for the fight.

Just what they need, another french player with a half arsed attitude. Tbf, he could cover for Maguire, as Stones does for England, but needs to be on top of his game. And there's the thing - he had great potential early on and Real should be hitting the motherload as he hits maturity as a centre back - but no - they want rid.
The premier league seems to ignite something in some foreign players and they perform out of their skin, Henry, Kante...even the two footed supporter assaulter... but when you throw in Penandez to Martial, Pogba and the others who don't care. I suspect he'll go the same way.

is anybody questioning where is the money coming from ? one of the biggest debts in football and after covid-19 turn over losses. no fans in the ground for 18 months so how can they splash that sort of cash.

come on FFP please let me know you are asking the same questions to manchester united

No other fucker was interested in their targets mate.
Doubling wages and the likes, isn't doing well to get them, imo.
I'd love to be on their negotiating team;

Player / Rep - I want £400k a week to play at this shit-hole.

MU Rep - No problem at all as I am working on commission. However, upon
your first interview will you confirm that you have been a life long rag and that you used to wank into your Ryan Giggs duvet?

Player / Rep - And twice on a Sunday.............

Hey. Madrid supporter here. There is many things wrong in here. Varane has good positional awareness. And definitely he is not slow. He is actually one of the fastest cb's in the world. He could be a good partner for Maguire who is a bit slow. He is also good in the air, that will not be problem in England. Maybe not in Maguire's level but still good.

Varane is rated by Madrid supporters and Real didn't want let him go. He wanted a new challenge and Zizou's departure could be one reason also. He also has won everything in Real. He will be a clear upgrade to Lindelof.

As a Real and Varane fan, i think you should not mock him just because of United is signing him. He is a great CB.

Peace.
Good morning Ole.

Sky saying Varane is the missing piece of the jigsaw. Only if its the one you get from the jumble sale with all the corner bits missing and the important bit in the middle.

Its like every one they've spunked money on, nobody else has shown any interest in buying. Maguire was on our radar and Sanchez and Sancho but I don't believe it for a second

Because last season you couldn't move for rags and pundits saying that they'd easily catch City if only they had a better central defender...
