I would love to know what the "football" side of the business entails, it is impossible to seperate in my opinion.

Lets say that Chemical Jim decides that the best football decision would be to pay up the contracts of Martial, Sancho, Varane etc.. This has to have a direct impact on the commercial side of the business, they still have books to balance.

The timing of the announcement stinks as well, no real opportunity to scrutinise the deal, already had one rage commenting how they now have £300 million to spend in January,
