Trying to rub it in and show the world they were back and how much it meant to them. The self entitlement that permeates throughout the club, from every fan, pundit and ex-player constantly telling anyone who cares to listen that they are the biggest club in the world and should be always fighting it out at the top, whilst having first dibs on the best players and how the Premier league is far better with a successful 'Nited' in it. You could see it in their players faces in the corner of the Etihad that they thought they had made a statement and once again were back in the big time.

Do they ever listen to themselves and question their own self grandeur and arrogance of the highest order, do they never think that other clubs fans might just dislike them because they extol this unjustified assumption of self advantage over everyone else.

The period under Sir Matt Busby was before my time and it was a different era for football, supporters and rivalries and it's only fair to recognise his achievements made all the more remarkable under the tragic circumstances that played out.

That period apart and thereafter from my City perspective is fuck them, one and all from Newton Heath to Newton County, Arkansas, the club that have at some time bullied and belittled most other clubs, led by a bully on and off the pitch, that banner, the noisy neighbours, the not in my lifetime statement and long before that there was the bent butcher selling dodgy meat to schools whilst ripping off grieving widows to get his grubby little hands on their husbands shares in the club. From growing up in the 70's and having it constantly rubbed in my face by gobby mates and wider family members and even the priest at school asked me why a Catholic boy like me supported City? First time I'd ever heard of that side of it.

Their current situation on and off the pitch couldn't happen to a more deserving club and its supporters. You reap what you sow, long may their drought continue.

And I would like to give Omar Berrada a special thank you. If he wasn't such a treacherous ****, he might have stayed and ended up as our CEO, which would have been a mistake because he's clearly a fucking clown when given real responsibility.

Berrada could be the next head to fall under Scruffy Jim's axe. I reckon Khaldoon identified him as clearly NOT future CEO potential, hence why he jumped ship. Rags have gone even further backwards since he joined them. He hasn't even fixed the leaking roof.

The Busby era was so very, very different to the modern day. It was commonplace for fans to go to both clubs' games on alternate weekends. Now; ignoring the fact that you'd need Bill Gates' bank balance to do that these days, would "hardcore" fans of either club even consider going to watch "the other lot"? Football is so much more tribal these days.

The board won’t want to sack yet another manager.
If he comes out and makes it public the board may be more willing to move on most of the players he doesn’t want and give him funds to build his own team.

They don't have the funds. They are finally eating the consequences of their lack of a consistent strategy. It's taken more than ten years but it's really starting to tell on them now.

They've blown so much from such an overwhelmingly superior position. As a 90s kid I thought I would never see it happen.

Their leaders get to play the game on easy mode but they're now a solidly mid table club.

It's crazy.

When scruffy Jim got in, then they brought in Berrada (who was well liked at City in his various roles), Willcox and Ashworth, it looked like they were getting their shit together, and our fun days might be over.

But like a foootball team, a management team has to gel. If each one of them has gone in with their own agenda, which seems to be the case, they're fucked.

ive said this before to rags but if he can only coach a certain system he is woefully out of his depth he has to adapt and play the hand hes dealt with the players he has
