[URL]...[/URL]

It seems they do. Well fuck me, that's an interesting one.

If you just post the link instead of URL tags by the way then our code will automatically convert it to a link. I'll look into it on Monday mate

Yes, that was the case also previously. However a url that wasn't enclosed in the url tags would become just text if quoted.

I'll try that now here.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.google.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.google.co.uk</a>

http://www.google.co.uk
Yep, still the case. Well in this instance anyway.

But not if truly quoted in a separate post!

Anyway, this is sufficient. The url tags would seem to be redundant now.

I've found the rules for this.

No spaces either side of the url
Plaything of the gods said:
http://www.google.co.uk

Space before the url
Plaything of the gods said:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.google.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.google.co.uk</a>

Space after the url
Plaything of the gods said:
http://www.google.co.uk

Space either side of the url
Plaything of the gods said:
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.google.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.google.co.uk</a>

Line break (and no spaces) before the url

Line
<a class="postlink" href="http://www.google.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.google.co.uk</a>

Punctuation before url

So unless it is preceded by a space or a line of something or some odd characters, the url will be converted to text if quoted.

The spaces will be because the autoparser picks it up.

I'll have a look into it, great info though mate, that's a big help :)
