Luckily it was only a failed coup, but then every failed coup is just practice for a successful coup. If they don't start dishing out justice to the perpetrators it's only a matter of time...

The majority of (voting) Americans clearly aren’t as blind as this or Trump wouldn’t have been summarily removed from office via the “name only” democratic process. The coup wasn’t successful. And the reason the coup happened now is because the coup-meisters know that their time to effect one to retain power is dwindling because demographics and societal norms are moving the opposite direction of much of what 1) they believe in; 2) they hold sacred and/or 3) keeps them in power.
