US Politics Thread

Over the past 12years I have spent a large chunk of my time in the USA mainly amongst over 50's US Citizens from Northern and Southern States. Decent people, good people, people admirably proud of their Constitution ,their Country and flag.
The vast majority are not very well informed on world affairs ,history (even their own) or politics from more than one angle. Probably could say the same about a large number of UK population nowadays. Only a few are out and out Trumpers but most moderates agreed with his rhetoric to protect their borders, defend their kids and grandkids jobs from going oversees ,respecting law and order and doing things to make them feel proud again of their Country.
Even the most moderate despair at the way Biden's presidency is unfolding.
You now hear 'well it wouldn't have been like this under Trump'..
So I would not write off Trump in 2024 .They shrug their shoulders at the lack of any decent Leadership candidate. (Aren't we the same).
Some of Bidens biggest supporters have now Christened Biden "Diary creamer" As in bearable but not the best.

If he stands again there's a chance of a GOP clean sweep. Just have to hope there's a candidate who isn't a far right as Trump standing against him.

The dispute in Ukraine could seal the fate of either.

1. Who?
2. There’s a chance of that whether he stands or not. More of a chance if he’s replaced by a progressive.
3. A candidate not as right (or as nutty) as Trump may very well have a BETTER chance of winning against Biden as he/she has a better chance of converting independents/moderates/undecideds.
4. I doubt it.

No, I don’t need nor want it. Don’t you live in Polk County? Does your trailer even have a phone?

Trump got more votes there in 20 than in 16. Tells me pretty much all I need to know.
Not sure what your point is in your infantile contributions to what is a serious debate. I am neither pro Trump nor pro Biden ..I merely made an observation to which you have added nothing of use..
How about you leave world affairs to the grown ups and maybe you should just stick to chats about barms or baps..

Ah I see. I on the other hand so far like what I see.
I have pretty much given up any hope from the GOP, the fact that none of them have any backbone is very depressing. Liz Cheney has more balls than all of the Trumpists put together. I don’t see any help coming from the democrats either, identity politics n all….sad times
