Cunts are beginning their cuntingness.
Yes the mood is really getting dark. The rhetoric is already nasty and getting worse. I can see a lot of aggro on the horizon.
Was planning a trip to NY end of Nov but I’ll hold my plans till I see how it all pans out. Peacefully I hope but its not looking good.

I’m supposed to be in the UK at a customer meeting in Nov. they wanted me to come the week of the election and I said no way. It’s currently scheduled for the week after and I’m still nervous about not being at home, away from my SO and kids that week. I’ve a real sense that something will happen.

I watched the documentary on the US election tonight on the telly.

It seems they have a choice between a fascist and a marxist, though the slur on Harris being a marxist from Trump is far less believable than the desription of Trump, given what he's been saying about, well, just about everything.

It's worrying when a potential president is talking about unclean foreigners poisoning the blood line of US citizens.

Shades of 1933 come immediately to mind on that front, and I don't remember him being that unhinged in the election he became president, but it's not all bad.

Harris is about as Marxist as Sunak.

But Trump and the MAGA movement more broadly is indeed fascist, as political analysts, scholars, and his previous top members of staff (including Chiefs of Staff during his term as presidency) have confirmed in recent weeks.

His and his surrogates’ rhetoric and threats have increasingly become literal paraphrasing of Hitler, Mussolini, and Stalin, and his actions whilst president where absolutely in line with fascist ideals, as are his promised behaviour and policies if he is elected again.

Anyone arguing that he and the MAGA movement is not fascist at this point is exceedingly ignorant, dangerously naive, or simply intellectually dishonest for their own aims (usually to directly or indirectly support Trump).

Harris is nowhere near being a Marxist or a even Communist for that matter. That's just a right-wing media construct.

In UK political terms, she's probably somewhere between Lib Dem's and Labour, leaning more towards the centre ground.
The way the terms fascist and Marxist are being thrown around is more a reflection of the desperate state of the 'debate' than the two candidates. It's typical of the polarisation of everything nowadays so the idiots that use twitter can pick a side for their follows and likes. All a bit depressing really.

If Harris is a Marxist, Beyoncé is the Queen of China.

Harris believes in a mixed economy, not very Marxist.

I don't for a second think she's a Marxist. The term tends to get thrown at anyone in the center or even a bit to the right of it nowadays.
You’re saying both sides are the same in using extreme descriptions of the other.

In the case of Trump and MAGA, they have demonstrated by their words and actions on numerous occasions that they are about as fascist as it’s possible to be. If you haven’t noticed then you really aren’t paying attention.

The difference is that Trump is actually quite fascist. At least all the evidence suggests he will be more so in his second term.

Tbh more a comment on the general polarization of political discourse nowadays. We had similar accusations of Marxism levelled at Starmer here as well as the Nazism/racism accusations getting thrown around too.

The early voting data is starting to show strong signs of a Harris win. Polls are subject to poor methodology and many are deliberately tilted. Early vote data is huge in scale and represents actual votes.

We don't know which way they were cast but the significant turnout in general and larger turnout of women over men points to Harris. There's lots of Republicans turning out but it's also probable that a significant number of registered Republicans will vote Harris.

Especially female ones I’ll hazard.

Yeah, basically if it was a low turnout and more men than women dems would be worried. Its a really big turnout. Is that because more people are comfortable with early voting post covid. Or are more people fired up. Either way it's good for dems but the big female turnout in early votes has to alarm the gop. They can of course claw it back this week and on the day but if you want an indicator that has to be the best one.

The difference is that Trump has just staged a re-enactment of a Nuremberg rally in Madison Square Garden.

You can accept 1 maybe 2 times where you make statements that echo Hitler. But doing it multiple times and then making it one of your key lines when it's pointed out is deliberate. So you also have to assume the msg event was also very deliberate, not only was it the same venue but multiple speakers making use of Hitler material.

That so called comedian who made the Puerto Rico ‘joke’ apparently said “We don’t need a **** (sic) in the White House.” Beyond belief.
