Who is this and when was he elected again?
It seems to be a bit of a 21st century phenomenon here too with unelected 'advisors' seeming to wield huge power at the heart of government. We've had the likes of Alistair Campbell and Dominic Cummings here. Not sure if they've always been there but now just have a higher public profile or if it is a new thing?

Hardly new. Not been watching Wolf Hall (Thomas Cromwell)?

"Eminence grise", 17th century

Rasputin

Dick Cheney (would you want Dubya making his own decisions?)

The civil service (Yes, Minister)

It's the Chief of Staff's job

AIPAC

Musk is in a different category though as he may be as mad or as bad as Trump. Certainly dangerous to know.

All good examples. TBF I don't suppose we've had a UK prime minister that Rupert Murdoch hasn't vetted and approved of since the 1970s

States with a higher number of college degrees also tend to vote Democrat. This is true. But is that evidence of being more educated or more indoctrinated?

More likely than not it's evidence of both.

Indoctrinated in what?

Indoctrination you say?

Global trade records reviewed by The Associated Press show a printing company in China’s eastern city of Hangzhou shipped close to 120,000 of the Bibles to the United States between early February and late March.

The estimated value of the three separate shipments was $342,000, or less than $3 per Bible, according to databases that use customs data to track exports and imports. The minimum price for the Trump-backed Bible is $59.99, putting the potential sales revenue at about $7 million.

You will never see Donald Trump in a church, lest he burst into flames.

3 weeks on and the leftist self-soothing continues in their echo-chamber of validation

we're smarter than you
we're more moral than you
we're more ethical than you
we're more tolerant than you
we're more compassionate than you
our hierarchy of values is better than yours
our families are better than yours
all around we are simply superior

god you are fucking insecure as fuck
Not leftists. Just those who didn’t vote for Trump, including conservatives. Including you. Welcome to our club — nice to have you.

Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends on this thread. Stay safe and warm... and don't eat too much and get fat over the holidays! :-)
