The signs were there though. From 79% to 52% 4 years... Not surprised it flipped against a weak candidate.
Florida trended the opposite way. Reps won successively by 16, 9, and 5 points in the previous three elections but the dems were trounced this time. They thought they were in with a big shout.

Are you saying the cartels are themselves emigrating and infiltrating into the area?
No, they run the whole illegal immigration racket. Some of their demands include fealty from the men crossing, sex/rape as payment for young women crossing and the use of children as crossing tools.

Outside of the ICE agents, it's the people who live near the border who see first hand the horrors of illegal immigration.

Interesting. I've always thought Florida was safely Red. I was always amused by those who thought it was in play. But looking at the trends I see why they thought that.

Immigration was a bad rap all around for Democrats this cycle. And they had a bad candidate. By that I mean both Biden ( and his failure to recuse himself and allow an open primary) and VP Harris inabilities as a skilled candidate.

A pivot on immigration ( particularly illegal immigration) and a cooling on all cultural war fights other than abortion will put them right back in play.

That Democrats have lost the mantle of the Party that does economy better is mind-blowing. They need to get that back, pronto.

No one wants a 1 party Country. It's bad for progress.

Great post. Agree all around, though I thought Harris was a little better than I expected she 'd be originally TBH. And 100% that Biden should have announced he wasn't running after the midterms at the LATEST. That was a big error -- even if Harris had won.

And now, having failed to make your point, you play the victim card.

Those Dems - calling people stupid! Woe is me!

How about fucking asking me what I actually believe in or in fact reading my posts instead of leaping to bullshit conclusions out of nowhere completely unsubstantiated by anything at all I've posted!?!

And for the record... yes... you're a fucking idiot. Why? Because facts don't matter to you - nothing I've previously posted matters. You know more about what I believe in than I do - and by God! you're gonna start from there. And hell, if that doesn't work, play the victim card.
That post was DRIPPING with sarcasm. I guess your other posts didnt make much of an impression. I am "a fucking idiot". Once again, thats nice. How did I make it this far even though I am so stoopid? Must be living on a trailer park with all the other rubes and ignorant citizens.

Its rather boring. I am an idiot, no make that a fucking idiot. You win......

We'd have to meet up in the City for drinks one of these days. So you can size up and decide if you wanna pummel this knucklehead that gets on your nerves from time to time.
Only time I go through EWR is going TO and FROM work. Although I dont have a GPS I still manage to find my way home....

This is an interesting one.

Starr County, Texas, shares a border with Mexico. Population 97% Hispanic, most Hispanic county in America.

2016 voted 79% Clinton, 19% Trump.
2020 voted 52% Biden, 47% Trump.
2024 voted 57% Trump, 41% Harris.

First time Starr County has voted for a Republican since 1892.
You know what this is? Its a "Chaos at the border meter" and in November and the years proceeding it, it was off the charts!

The same people who thought Florida could be flipped were the same people who broke the jizz-o-meter when that bogus Iowa poll came out.

Can hardly blame people (democrats) for getting a little giddy when a pollster of that reputation releases an unexpectedly positive poll
