The Republican orthodoxy are going to "kill" him before he becomes the nominee. Almost every news outlet is running his comments on a loop and right wing radio and TV are 24/7 against him. I don't think there is any way he wins a General Election. That said, you might want to take a look at Ted Cruz...he is bat shit crazy, too...just not in front of the cameras too often...and Republocans HATE him, too, but he is not The Donald!!

The brokered convention might be very interesting, with Trump supporters not embracing the Party, and the Party not embracing Trump, it could get ugly quickly. The political machinations that lead to a Nominee might be history-making, and could fracture the Republican Party for a good long while. Excellent, I say!!!

You can make a case for Trump winning an Obama state or two it is very hard to make a case that Cruz could beat a dem in Virginia, wisconsin , Florida, Ohio or Pennsylvania though . That said I don't think trump would and the dems would probably fancy a tilt at Arizona and a few other states of trump was nominee .

Also can trump or Cruz head a ticket that retains senators ( a few of them unpopular) in the likes of Florida , Illinois, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin . Let's face it if trump tanks or they back idiot candidates there are seats like Louisiana , Missouri, even Arizona - if McCain is binned where a good democrat beats a bad republican

Nothing worse could happen for the dems, trump needs to finish off the republicans and bring them back to their senses - they are the party of Lincoln after all . Dems should be encouraging trump to continue and escalate the civil war in the red camp

If they get to fill the Supreme Court vacancy, get Ginsberg retired and can fill the 15 or so circuit judge vacancies they will be well placed to go after citizens united, some of the racist voting laws and a whole host of sacred cows that will hurt the republicans . Gerrymandering harder to tackle as when the republicans do it , it looks sensible on a map even if they get 70% of seats for 50% vote when the dems do it because of rural vote being republican it looks a bit mad

No need for anyone to flap about Trump being President. It's impossible for a non establishment Politician to be elected in the US. One assumes that in the very unlikely event that his campaign isn't railroaded, then an 'accident' will be forthcoming.
