83 Utd seasoncards recovered in police raid. 83!

I suppose there's good money to be had in applying for seasoncards and then selling the tickets on match by match. But how do you get the card back?

Often wondered at City how the touting works, because even now with the plastic cards I still occasionally get asked by touts if I need any tickets. Not like it was at Maine Rd though

Was going to say that something similar happened last year but reading the article it appears this could relate to the same incident as it mentions the raid happening last year.

I dont know how it would work anymore because you wouldnt expect them to do it based on trust would you

There is a lot of them rag touts about. One gang used a room in the hotel opposite Old Trafford to sell tickets and had hundreds of season books before the games just spread out on the bed....... I knew a lad who used to let them sell his for him and its all based on trust (these guys are also local criminal/gangster types)...... on a few occasions he has got books/tickets with other peoples names on them when they were returned........ obviously he gets a cut of what ever they sell them for.

83, is that all, I know a United tout, or at least he was one. Held 500 season tickets aquired from within the club over a number of years when fans die and don't pass on tickets. What makes me laugh was that just before I met him there was a programme on TV which contained denials by Yoonited that season cards were obtained by touts from within.
This tout made £50,000 in a day at the Champions League Final in 1999!!!! and was making £30,000 every Yoonited game............
I've walked into their ground several times and got in the City section via stewards I know through this lad. On one occasion I had bought 2 tickets in the home section from the tout for £70, met a steward, was escorted into the City section with my mate, gave the steward my tickets who returned them to the tout which were then sold again. I got half my money back after the game, the game by the way was our 2-1 win recently so an all round good day.
It's big big money, the reason he gave up was being blown out by rivals, one of them being a city tout...........!!! shame.

Very interesting.

Quite a few of the rag fans sell their season tickets to Irsh travel agents, who then can negotiate with hotels to get a good deal for bringing 50+ idiots over for their one game in a lifetime and buy the ryan wilson duvets.
