think Valencia play at home in ECL on the Tuesday night so dont know if tours will be on that day. Anyway couple of us staying in Valencia Tuesday, Wednesday and trying to find out where blues are meeting for the festivities.
Any ideas?

I wouldn't bother with the stadium tour, it's really not that great. It's a good stadium to watch football in but aesthetically it's not up to much.

I'm guessing Finnegans will be the focal point, it's the only Irish bar in the centre and they can cater for the numbers required.

What time is finnegans likely to be open till?

This is true. His bar is near the main entrance (where the stadium tour starts) and is always lively. I'll have a chat to him when I can speak Spanish one day.

Not sure what time Finnegans will be open until. I'll send them an email soon to check out what they can do.

just got back from 2 weeks near valencia and did the stadium tour of the mestalla. having done the nou camp and the bernabeu as well, mestalla just doesnt compare. seemed very old and needs work done on it. interesting points are that the stands are really steep! and that the chapel is just off the players tunnel. strange.

As I recall Valencia started building a new stadium but can´t afford to continue the construction as no one is interested in buying the old stadium because of the property devaluation that have hit Valencia like a sledgehammer since the financial crisis.

On a positive note, that´s why we where able to buy Silva

The situation is a whole load more farcical than that. As I understand, and I might be wrong, the Mestalla has no value due to the fact the pitch is part of a Valencia 'green' area and therefore flats cannot be built on the grass itself. Of course this came about long after the structure of the new stadium was built. To see the new ground now you would think it was almost completed when in fact they will more than likely be bringing it all back down again in the near future.

An absolute shambles that does nothing for the €400m+ debt of Valencia CF.
