Var debate 2019/20

It definitely looks like that, they have completely missed out the part that says the player creating the chance must be in possession/control, nowhere on IFAB guidelines does it say accidental then creates a chance to the attacker like The Premier are tweeting out. The only part it says accidental is if the ball goes straight into the goal off the hand/arm. That is not what happened in this scenario.

Laporte should have had control/possession first, then creates a goal scoring opportunity..... that is not what happened.

As daft as it sounds, it literally looks like the Prem refs have not read the detailed guidelines OR have been given shoddy broad instructions not covering the detailed IFAB guidelines.

Laws in the way...got it badly wrong and now look bad...never fear, just change the law and/or narrative and carry on regardless.

I believe we regularly get shafted in the Champs League and yet I still go to the away matches, I think it is mainly for the laugh before and after the shafting. I go to all home games, Prem, FA and League Cup even though I believe we regularly get shafted, this is more to do with my love for City, I can't imagine not going so I do, BUT, if this shite carries on it will be the final nail in the coffin. If you take 'that' feeling away that a goal gives you it is not worth it.

And and and, if you study the relevant still, the ball appears to be in contact with both players simultaneously. Both appear to be competing fairly for the ball, but both fail to head it.. If I'm right, one rule for the attacker and a dif rule for the defender. Bonkers.

Swarbrick said, I think, that there was contact but Oliver thought that Rodri fell forwards rather than backwards and that Rodri felt the contact and went down. Swarbrick said that the refs had been looking at contact. I think he meant that although there was contact there was not enough contact to warrant a fall. I suppose the worry is that another ref may not have the same understanding of body mechanics as Oliver and give a foul!

Felt the contact ?? Not fucking surprised, he was wrestled to the ground.

Still refusing to show incidents under review unlike every other sport as they "have to protect officials".

Protect them form what exactly?

Do they have so little faith in their abilities?

Or is it a case of protecting them from any scrutiny and allowing them to come to any decision they want?

Protect officials? Yeah, because there are loads of recorded incidents of match officials and video officials being targeted and attached after giving contentious review decisions. The only thing they are protecting is their jobs and salaries.

The guys over at Redcafe love VAR apparently... After City losing Im presume.

Usually when I get tackled American football style, I usually go down too
