Yet the ref strides out ten paces, yards, feet... who knows. And who cares?

Scrap it completely for all I care.

But if you’re going to have it, it seems a bit silly putting the officials under ridiculous time constraints, that will inevitably lead to more wrong calls.

Missing the point re “wrong calls”. I only want to eliminate the howlers - you can do that in 30 seconds and if you can’t then get on with the game
