The PL have absolutely struck a sweet spot for this season at least (I do believe it will be reformed next but it doesn’t help us this season) as the mantra this season is that “clear an obvious officiating mistake” which they constantly refer to. That phrase opens a can or worms as means that any “close” or remotely close call can be determined by the ref either at the time or pulled back and manipulated by going back to find fault by the VAR team. Effectively they can manufacture the general course of a game during key moments by going with the Refs marginally wrong decision as not clear and obvious enough to over rule but at the same time find fault when it suits the agenda for the season.
They have found a way to bend the results they want within the stall they have set. That said I think they have gone beyond the realms of plausibility in recent weeks and social media and public opinion from all fans (Liverpool aside) that have really smelt a rat this weekend. I think we will see these obviously biased methods toned down in the immediate future.
that said.. probably too late and job done. As they got what they want with 3 years on the bounce being bad for “the product”.
I just hope it all comes out and gets exposed one day as it stinks.
