Vegetarianism

numpties.

There's a very simple definition nature has provided for what we can and can't eat, it's called poison.

So you'd have no issue eating a cat or a dog then?

That is a pretty shit argument. Whilst there are other options available, why would you choose to eat an animal that has been bred specifically as a pet?
If it was a choice of going hungry or eating a dog or cat, then I would not hesitate. Dog roast or cat kebab every time.
It's almost as poor a question as asking a veggie if scientists discovered plants feel pain, would you still eat one?

So fucking true. It's like an opposite fight club. Rule 1 of veggie club is you must tell everyone about veggie club. Rule 2 about veggie club is you MUST tell everyone about veggie club.

The difference is you can eat a veggie meal, they can't eat a meal with meat in it. Don't forget, some people are veggies for religious reasons or health reasons.
You also miss the irony in when finding out it is a veggie meal you are receiving by insisting on telling every one you eat meat....
We only ''tell everyone we are veggie'' so they know in advance if preparing a meal for us. Or would you rather not know and spend time and money cooking for us only to be told you have just wasted your time and money?

I'm not talking about a dinner party situation as that is fair enough to tell someone in advance they don't eat meat. What I am talking about is every single person I know who has converted to the cult of vegetarianism somehow thinks that everyone in the world needs to know about it and be "educated". I have a friend who has recently stopped eating meat and that is his decision and good for him but then my Facebook timeline is bombarded with fucking articles on how people who eat meat are evil and articles and pictures on the benefits of just eating veg and status updates about how good they feel now they don't eat meat and how everyone else should do the same.

I wish this was just an isolated incident but it really isn't and it gets really tiring to hear to the point where the next person who tries to bore me about their plant only diet I will go to a butchers, buy the biggest steak I can and smack them in the face with it.

Thats crazy shit really

you surely only know about the ones who tell peole (not the ones who keep it too themselves)

I stopped eating meat 3 years ago and hardly tell anybody, except if they are cooking for me. So if I was a mate of yours you wouldnt know.

Yes I would

I didnt stop eating meat because animals feel pain, I stopped because of all the stuff they put into meat these days, steroids etc

Not all veggies are veggies because of cruelty

What about the chemicals they put on vegetables to make them grow, or do you only eat organic veg? Organic meat is just as readily available as organic veg.

I was a vegetarian for seven years but realized I like poultry and seafood too much. I still haven't eaten red meat or pork since the mid-nineties.

I think not eating meat is different to being a vegetarian. Vegetarians don't eat any meat products so only vege cheese no jelly no sweets with gelatin in them. Do you guys take it to this extreme? Or just not eat meat?

No it isn't a shit argument. Assuming we go with the creation theory (seeing as you said nature has provided....) it doesn't say in the bible that god created a cow for a beef burger and a dog to go on leisurely walks in the park with.
People get upset when a Korean family will take a dog for a family picnic and the dog is part of the picnic. I don't get the objection myself. There is no difference in eating a dog than eating a cow. It is an animal and it is meat.

And of course, I could say to your comment - about whilst there being an option between eating a cow and a dog why would you choose a dog - seeing as there is an option now between eating meat and not eating meat, why eat meat?

"Assuming we go with the creation theory".

End of any credible discussion.

Just not natural as a species we are Omnivores.
