Villa fan found guilty of punching nine year old City fan at Cup Final

Don’t underestimate the Royal Mail Unions. I know lads who have been done for stuff and still work on the post.

If that being done for stuff includes stealing packages from eBay, Amazon and Depop for me then that's a disgrace. When lockdown was on, I bought everything online and had to make four claims for "lost" items.

He's retired now but Tony in my local used to be a postman and has some awful stories. Credit cards and all sorts.

I worked for Royal Mail for 24 years and if they are going to sack anybody for anything , it will be for stealing or pilfery ... they can't abide it .... they have their own in-house 'investigation teams , who can 'covertly' watch a postmans activities ... and if they cannot trust you to deliver to their public , then straightaway you're a gonner!

Yes, stealing STILL goes on, mailny because of the sheer amount of employees that they have , and the current 'quality' of some of those employees .... but Royal Mail do their best to catch individuals who attempt to do this kind of thing.

But this guy Ebdon has brought all this negative attention onto himself , and Royal Mail bosses won't have to look far to shout him into the office for questioning .. or come to that, sacking him ... and exactly how much interest a union would apply in 'defending' him in a case like this remains to be seen!

Junk mail always seems to arrive - let's put it that way! Honestly, I had to claim for four items not received. Our postman is an aggressive bastard with a face like thunder. I've seen him dropping things before. Maybe they just mis-deliver and the occupant doesn't bring it round?

The one thing I've always admired United fans for is their ability to wind up the opposition. Argentina chanting is very questionable but they were defending that twat Beckham after the 1998 World Cup. As Blues, we must stay 100% together despite differences of opinion.

Can we print up obviously fake £20 notes with the Sheikhs face on it and throw them around? Lob them at rival fans without being kicked out? Wave them around certainly. Like all bullies, we're just looking for a reaction...

True - there was a thread on here about that Arsenal fan incident and the perpetrator was roundly condemned.
I would argue though that this particular incident at Wembley - while isolated in terms of the nature of it - came about because so many Villa fans on the day were behaving like utter dickheads and someone took it way too far on the back of that. I didn’t witness any of that behaviour myself and the few I did speak to were fine but there are loads of stories knocking about of Villa fans being twats towards City fans. I still don’t know to this day what got into them - Villa Park is one of my favourite away grounds and I’ve had numerous cracking days out there over the past 30 years while witnessing very little trouble, yet when it came to their big day out at Wembley as a collective they ended up behaving worse than every other set of fans we’ve met at Wembley in the past 10 years barring one obvious exception of course. Fucking hell, even Stoke fans behaved far better in 2011.
I don’t disagree, I was at Wembley, didn’t have any problem personally, but saw loads of gobby brummies being dicks. My point was that if you are the sort of person that thumps a child, you are that sort of person. A normal bloke, even a football hooligan would not attack a child, it takes a special sort of wanker to do that, and it isn’t team specific or driven by a bad result. It is a mixture of cowardice, inadequacy and rage. I suspect there are a lot of brummie postmen waiting on this dick coming to work, assuming he hasn’t been sacked by now.

Encountered a few little Villa mobs and I was called a 'City rat' by 1 or 2 of the gobby ones within them. Don't know whether that's a Villa thing and what they call Birmingham City fans? Just big game Charlies, have rarely filled their ground even in the Premier League years

As someone has already posted in here, the shit that we now get as a fan base has an awful lot to do with the shit we get in the papers, on Sky and on BT. We were well liked when we were fucking shit. As for the Villa fans, it’s harsh to generalise, but as a group they were much worse than any others we have met at Wembley, apart from the rags. Regarding this individual, I would like to think there are quite a few Birmingham City fans around who will dispense more justice than the courts did. £250 compensation for a 9 year old who must have been traumatised is also an absolute fucking piss take

Can City do something for the young lad? Can we crowdfund for him? All with the consent of his parents.
