Indeed. Even though he probably won't be a postie anymore, his old pics are accessible via Google and he even showed a pic of one of his routes once. I think the only way out of this without having to look over his shoulder for a good while is a seriously grovelling apology directly to the boy.

Hard to put myself in his shoes but if I was him I would probably offer to pay for whatever day out the kid chose to go on with his family or something like that. I'd also expect to be quickly filled in by Dad when I went around to drop it off as well.
