Villa game almost sold out

imagine a 60,000 stadium with 30 odd thousand fans for the early cup games, wouldn't look to brilliant.
Better that than a 76,000 seater with 28 thousand fans, eh?

Or seriously, better that than a 48,000 seater stadium with 60,000 fans for the 38+ games that aren't the early cup games.

says a lot about modern day football, that a club the size of villa, who unbeaten are still happy to take the reduced allocation.

away fans are part of the fabric of football, sadly the cost is killing it.

Interesting to see that Wolves have only taken the lower tier too. Cost is definitely killing away support.
Sitting next to or close to the away fans adds to the whole atmoshpere and banter.
It didn't seem to matter that there wasn't much home support in the corners on Saturday. Instead of boring "you've had your day out...", "you're support is fucking shit" etc we had proper City songs. We should be able to create an atmosphere without away support.

Just had a look at the seat planner and because of the lower away allocation there are some really good South Stand seats on sale (second tier - 212, 213, 214, 215) but they have also opened the SWC area now so assuming all the seats sell out, we're looking at a huge attendance as for recent Premier League games (correct me if wrong) the NWC and NEC were opened but neither the SWC or SEC (the latter not yet opened but could be if seats sell fast?) were.

Unfortunately Villarreal tickets are not moving very fast with only a week and half to go, thousands upon thousands of seats remain but many will buy next weekend probably.
