Villa (H) Post Match Thread

People seem to be saying its a new rule , well i remember a similar incident in the champions league semi final at the Etihad against Liverpool , when Sane scored what should have been the second , it was wrongly disallowed because Sane was offside , however the ball was played back by Milner making Leroy onside , pretty sure the rule saying you cant be offside from a ball deliberately played by an opposition player has been around for years , could be wrong though..

In the old days, any touch by an opponent - e.g. a slight deflection on a through ball - played you onside.

Immoral for spending money ...... Just like everybody else
Immoral for having rich foreign owners ..... just like everybody else
Immoral for winning a cup final 6.0 ...against another premier league team
Immoral for winning a League cup semi 9.0 ..... United doing the same to Ipswich is legendary
Immoral for breaking FFP rules ...... just like several other teams
Immoral even after being found innocent of breaking FFP rules
Immoral for asking for a game postponement due to Covid outbreak within our club bubble
Immoral for complaining (even though we didn't) about a late Covid game postponement due to Arteta catching Covid
Immoral for having a massive first-team squad even though it's one of the smallest in the premier league
Immoral for scoring a goal in a game we dominated and that is completely within the rules of the game.
Immoral for drawing any lower league side in any cup competition ...unlike anyone else.
Immoral for playing a young talented player almost 100 times in 3 1/2 seasons
Immoral just because ........

The bitter reaction of so called pundits, commentators and professional footballers to us winning the game only makes the result sweeter.
Apparently it was a great game until we scored!
Biased Television at its finest

I haven’t seen the Bennys so upset since actual grown men printed fake banknotes and brought them to the match to wave at future multiple trophy winner Gareth Barry. Or since actual grown men went to the shops, bought plastic snakes and brought them to the match to wave at future multiple trophy winner Fabian Delph.

Strangely, there was no talk in the media of it being ‘morally unpalatable” when the Villa keeper and defenders played on despite blatantly knowing the ball was over the line v Sheffield Utd. That kept them up last season. Their very existence in the Premier League is as a direct result of their players cheating and is “morally unpalatable”

I don't recall seeing this much shite talked about a goal. It's fucking ludicrous.

As for Villa. They're a set of fans I have a particular dislike for. Entitled wankers. Now I know Rags and Dippers are also entitled wankers, but I kind of understand why. However, I've no fucking idea why Villa fans act that way. Fannies.

Had a decent side in the early 80s won a European cup after a more than kind series of draws against poor sides.

I've re-run the video several times now. Mings is looking at his goalkeeper when he clears the ball so he knew exactly where Rodri was. He turns as the ball goes over his head. Bernardo heads it back. Mings glances behind (and sees Rodri again) before attempting to chest it down - silly sod - instead of heading it forward. At that point the sequence of play with Rodri being offside is over. Villa have the ball. Rodri nips in (not 'tackle from behind' as commentators and Smith claimed), the rest is history and the goal is legal. The law has not changed, its nothing to do with VAR, Uefa, Brexit, SkyTV, Covid, or anything else 'modern' or Michael "Dobbin" Owen!!!

Some of the headlines make it look like Rodri was wearing camouflage , ducked under the barbed wire and mugged Mings , when in fact it was a dozy overrated centre half who needs a few hours reading the football assocaition rule book. But Mings doesnt need to worry about his England place , Stones is back.

I remember this incident being described as Quick-witted, Cheeky and Clever

But not Immoral for some reason?

Oh how the media and other fans laughed at us, well it's us who are laughing today.Take it Take it
And the Forrest goal wasn’t against the spirit of the game.
If the sainted Fernando had scored Bernies goal it would have been a goal of the season contender and it wouldn’t be a rubbish law.

Top Stuff, felt like a big win that. Bernardo scoring the goal to top off his recent performances. Great performances from the lot. Really showing how this season being able to keep a clean sheet is massive, that one particular block from Ruben was insane.

I won't lie, i didn't celebrate the goal and assumed it would be ruled out, but seems by the rules it was onside and a fair goal. Would maybe feel a bit for Mings if he hadn't of seen he was there, chested the ball down and then tried to be clever and nutmeg or take it past Rodri.

Take that Villa. Disgusting time wasting
I've said before, I thought the goalie could only hold it for 6 (or is it 8) seconds before dropping it to the ground or releasing the ball. Martinez is a 12- 18 second twat and he gets away with it, as he did when he played the odd cup game for his last club (Arsenal I think)
