Just imagine a fully fit and sharp Vinny starting every week! I'm intrigued to see what Pep will do with him, obviously a fully fit kompany starts every week but I don't think he'll ever be close to that

There lies the problem. I just dont see Vinny as a back up player. He's just too dominant a personality when he does play, there's bound to be a drop off in leadership when he's rested.

Yep. That leads me to an unpleasant conclusion: even if the miracle happens and Kompany is fit till the end of season, putting one imperious performance after another, Pep will do all possible to ship him out in summer and replace with another defender (preferably left-sided - Laporte or the likes). And it's not Pep's evilness, it just common logic.

Encouraging words from Pep, I was expecting VK to be one of the first cleared out, brutal, but almost unavoidable. To hear otherwise is great, to see it would be a massive boost.

Hope I am wrong but I'm not convinced personally. Pep wasn't likely to say anything controversial to the press.
