Club legend, bar none. But seems on the wane. Maybe it's just the classic "needs a run of games", but I'm not so sure. I hope and am sure he can play a key role in guiding us to success this season, regardless of how much game time he gets.

I'm not so sure either. Was really bad tonight. We need to have a look at this because the partnership with a Otamendi doesn't look great currently. Our defending of corners was dreadful.

He looked so old tonight. Terrifying when in possession, poor tackles, another yellow (standard Kompany this season). Bit of a liability now. Mangala should start v West Ham and if he plays well, in the derby too.

He’s just rusty.....he’s got at least another 2 seasons left with us.
Obviously he’s got to be handled well but I’d play him against West Ham then rest him til derby.
Playing him v West Ham would mean 3 games in a week and a massive mental barrier overcome.

After the euphoria of the winner had died down my overwhelming emotion tonight was one of sadness....

A saw a great captain and player who looked a shadow of that leader.

I will always admire him on a lot of levels...but alas time stands still for no man and it looked like he will not be the player we had in his pomp again.

I really hope I’m wrong, but if not I will never slag him off due what he’s done for us as a team since he arrived.

Probably best to play him against West Ham to try gain some fitness ready for united. He’s making silly souls in dangerous areas and giving away possession in positions he shouldn’t be. I think most of his know his time is nearly up at city due to him being unreliable, just hope he can leave on a high.

Kompany did have a very off game tonight - but I put that down to having so little playing time.

Much better after he got yellowed as he had to cut out lunging in all the time.

He defended well and took up some great positions but injuries are taking their toll on his quickness and his passing is sub-par for the team we've become. Hopefully a few games will see him improve but we are definitely missing Stones.

was blowing hot and cold last night, made some good tackles but also bad ones, hope he will get sharper because it's really hard after all this time on the sidelines to get back into that team

He looked sluggish yesterday, which could be due to a lack of match fitness, but sadly I think there is a more permanent reason for it.

Van Dijk looked really good though, and would be a great addition to our defense.

He looks off the pace still. Struggles against quick forwards and decides to lunge in which is always risky. The side is missing Stones both on and off the ball. Van Dijk would slot into our defence with ease.
