I’m enjoying reading Vincent and Nigel’s comments in the MEN:

"For me this is one of the biggest derbies in the world. I have been aware of it since I was a kid and now I am part of it, I understand how special it is to the supporters and local people in Manchester - most of whom are Blues," declared January signing De Jong.

And

Kompany has never played at the home of the Reds and has steadfastly refused to visit their ground as a spectator…"There are many games that I have looked forward to since I came to England and this one is certainly up towards the top of the list," he explained. "I feel that since I arrived from Hamburg I have grown into the City colours and into the club tradition and this game against United has become very important to me and not just a regular game. I feel I am a Citizen and I know exactly who the opposition are on Sunday and how much it means to our fans to get a good result there as we did last season.”

It’s nice to hear that passion for the game. I’m already a big fan of these two. Hopefully they'll go on to be big players for City for years to come.

I just hope that neither of them get sent off. I can see them crunching Tranny and getting sent off by a pussy ref.

So who have the MEN reported about being fired up now?
Shay, Vinne K, Nige, three of our most important players bar Superman and Robinho?

Going to be a good match.

Ye, i love how up for it they sound.

I just hope we can put a good performance in! I always feel that we are going to get hammerd at OT.

Did any one read in the Man City mag about De Jong and how he used to be a kick boxer!?

I have nick named him 'the bat out of hell' when he starts charging at the defenders of the other team - i would shit myself!

Good on them. I don't think we should go there and kick them off the park (only do that in the last 10 if were not getting a result), but hopefully we can play it about, a similar performance as was at everton, yet with a bit more running will be required and a little more gusto.

Not only would a win knock them on there arses but it gets us closer to UEFA cup again.

Quality signings just shows how good hughes is in the transfer market. Everyone of his signings show fight for the club(- jo and tbh who he didnt really have a say in us getting) this is why he needs time to build.

If that doesn't get excited about Sunday nothing will. The performance of these two on Sunday will be vital in us getting any kind of result. They will have to protect our defence especially in that 2nd half.

Will hopefully be City Legends for some time to come!
