So where does VVD fit into the puzzle if Vinny stays fit? Or, to phrase it another way, would we really invest over £50m on a CB who wouldn't be first choice in the position unless injuries happen? (and would he even want to come under those terms?)

I'm all for our interest here, but if Pep is that high on Kompany then maybe this isn't the right target. Vinny's fitness is a gamble in either direction.

If Vinny stays fit then Pep just has to rotate, play 3 at the back or do whatever to keep people happy.

At the end of the day the risk of buying VVD and someone being miffed about gametime is nothing compared to not buying him and being left fucked by Vinny's injuries again.

I was just pointing out what constituted a "done deal" with Ederson and the Portuguese stock market requirements.

I said no way does Ederson give an interview with Abola without it being done to which i got jumped on by several posters, our Rammy included who took great pleasure is saying no deal done until the stock exchange had been informed.

I'd be more concerned about what Pep thinks about the CB position.

Lets put it this way. If he had a crystal ball and he knew that Vinny wouldn't have another injury ravaged season - we wouldn't be in the market for a 50 million CB this summer. Pep fucking adores Vinny and knows that the entire team function better with him in it. And the plan is more or less for Vinny to be Puyol to Stones' Pique.

Glad you mentioned Stones he is so underrated by a few here yet as i understand it Pep has big plans for the lad and will be one of the first picked on any team sheet if fit and ready?
