I've tried to get this discount a few times, even gone through the OS,price has never been different from anywhere else.
Unless I'm doing summat wrong.
There's two separate things you can go for and I'm not sure which you're on about. The 'City in the city' train is a one off train from London to Manchester (return) just for City fans and laid on by Virgin for Champions League games. It usually gets into Manchester about 17:30hrs on match day, and then gets back into Euston about 02:00hrs the following morning. Unless you're on a 'match day' package (inc. hospitality) it costs £60 inc. VAT. Train is dry as well.
The Virgin 'discount' applies to all Virgin trains, anywhere, anytime any destination, and is available to all Ciry seasoncard holders and members. If you google 'Virgin Man City' and click the link on offer it'll take you straight to the Club Website page where you type in your support number and hit return. You then get directed to the Virgin trains booking page and the discounted (25% off advanced tickets only) prices come up in yellow once you've entered your journey details. It does work and it does give the discount as I've previously checked the before and after prices. Hope that helps

And where do you find info about the chartered train? Maybe it's not been announced yet as I can't find it.
Think discounts are limited though. I've looked before and not all trains have the discount.
Email.

If you go on the main site and click the hospitality link, it has city in the city as an option on the left hand side.
On this page it also has the link to book tickets via Virgin.
Yeh, not every train has it, but a significant number do. Probably 50% plus IMO. I use mine regularly to travel up from London for both City matches and to visit my eldest lad at uni in Candlepool. Been a nice little saver
Thanks mate!
If you also click on club news, there is an article on 13/4 with the title " successful second journey for city in the city express" Andy Morrison and Alex Williams were "hosting"
It sounds like a no brainer to me if you live in London. Not a bad price, there and back in a day and a train full of like minded people.
On that article it actually says email hospitality@mcfc.co.uk
I used the discount for west ham away, it applies to off peak journeys only, when on the train i was not asked for my season ticket, if i remember correctly the ticket said something like corporate discount rather than being specifically mentioning city. You can book two tickets using this process, and my mate who travelled with me was a west ham fan so it doesnt matter who the other person is.Just out of interest, do they just ask you to show your SC or citizens card? Can people travel with you or does everyone have to have a SC etc.

you can use the discount anytime, i just happened to use it for the west ham game.Cheers. It's more a case of using it when we are not playing I was interested in. Based on this and what Exeter said about using it to visit son, I assume there are no issues with this.
