I have no installation disk.

Laptop bought second hand for one of my kids

Any ideas how I fix the problem

Do you have access to another computer so that you can download and burn/flash a boot disk?

Hirens boot cd is your friend mate. make sure boot to cd is first boot menu in the bios stick it in the dvd drive then reboot, it has tools to correct corrupt boot files, and its free/not cracked

This is another world for me.
It's my lads laptop I bought him for his school work.
There was no discs with it.

I just want a CD I can put into the CD-Rom and get it fixed.

Which is the easiest?
