Clearly competition but we’d back ourselves as the best club in the world etc. But with Khusanov signing and we still have JSP around I’d be happy if we signed him but he stayed there for the CWC as looks a real talent.

I think JSP is likely to go on loan next season with these 2 and likely Doyle coming in.

He needs alot more experience than what City can give him, and with those 3 coming in and still having Dias, Ake, Akanji and a broken Stones for 3 spots, we will be stacked.

Yeah a loan or sold with the usual sell on buy back etc.

Doyle is an interesting one. Didn’t he do preseason with us this year before getting a loan move. At the time I thought that meant we were having a good look at him.

But my point was we might not rush to get a right back in Jan if the right option isn’t available as a signing we will want for say next 5 years. And Reis is an again a project player but could be the next big thing.

That ornstein comment is nonsensical. Regardless of who signs him, the others will be frustrated. If they really wanted him, they could have offered more or done more. It's not like once we roll into town, everybody walks with their tails between their legs. Ask Fred and Sanchez who they signed for.
Still hope they fuck themselves

Simpson-Pusey has dealt with his minutes better than Savic under Mancini and he turned out ok.

I think your criticism is unfair. Although he may not be ready the biggest issue for me is how other players play with him. Which you could say is because he isn’t ready but also because our current first team defenders have been so good for so long with no real change to the line up apart from Josko who is incredible.
He doesn’t look quick enough brave enough or strong enough. That’s not about who he’s playing next to imho.

Can I answer this. They signed for a big of shite which suited them as they were both shite.

I think it’s a massive step up to play in the prem from the Youth system which is mostly none contact.
Yeah I’m sure it is but of all the kids I’ve seen attempt to make that step he looks the worst. Looks like a rabbit in head lights. His defending for their chance was dreadful and how did he miss the header to score early in first half?

Reading this thread makes me realise how many people are completely out of touch with the current state of football. Suggesting that 40m or £33m is a massive fee for him.

£30m barely gets you anything now. It gets you Kieran Dewsbury-Hall. It doesn't even get you Archie Gray or Max Kilman.

It's a great fee for a very highly rated young prospect.
