I agree with all you have said apart from loyalty. Could it not be argued that loyalty played a huge part in our treble and 4 in a row success? I would take that loyalty now if it meant we continue to win and have a bad season every 4/5 years.

As a club we stay humble and loyal. It does have its drawbacks but what’s the alternative? Change players too early?

It’s a tough balancing act and one we have done well to sidestep a few times.

As much as this season has hurt us it will help us avoid making such a mistake in the future. Well maybe… no one is perfect.
I always think we need to be bringing in 1 or 2 top players a season in, just to keep thing fresh and keep the hunger, and once a player hits 30 up , make sure they are maintaining fitness and hunger.

Positive signs for this deal.

The negotiation between Palmeiras and Manchester City could reach up to 45 million euros (R$ 283 million). The clubs are discussing the moment of the athlete's arrival in England... -

At that sort of number we shouldnt be getting pushed around or be too nice, if we want him now then thats what should happen.

UOL is reliable for Palmeiras
City’s offer is for Vitor Reis to be released in January and includes bonuses.

The fee as stated earlier yesterday would be a record for a defender from the Brazilian club. The previous top fee was €20m for Lucas Beraldo from São Paulo to PSG 12 months ago.

City have informed Palmeiras they want an answer by the end of the week.

Even if stones leaves we would still have Ake, Dias, Gvardiol & Akanji. I think those 2 will take the place of Aké and Akanji over time. And then there is still JSP. If everything goes well City won’t need to buy new CB in the next years. Hell we might even get an actual RB/LB.
We also have others in the academy that could come through as well??

Max Alleyne??

That we brought out of Southampton’s academy and is doing well in the EDS.

But as with JSP needs time and experience in Premier League and in settled side??

Good luck, finding that at the moment!! :0)

JSP, Alleyne, Braithwaite, Mfuni

Could be a struggle getting this lad unless we it’s a decent fee for them. Club president come out stating lots of European clubs interested but no talks and he wants to keep him for club World Cup etc

These young CB signings feel likr Brighton type signings who then go on to be worth 75m+.

Its good we are going for them now, rather than when they become huge.

Heres the thing, even if they dont quite become city standard, they can be resold for a small loss, the gamble is worth it.

Consider the south american premium buys in Vini, Rodrygo at Real, or Alvarez for us, they werent cheap, for the potential all were paid for good fees (30m ish), and all 3 became worth way more.

think that's a typical response tbh at the beginning of the mahmoush talks it was just like that

Wasn’t Alvarez 14m ?

Pussey has been on the field and looked woeful sadly on every occasion.
Simpson-Pusey has dealt with his minutes better than Savic under Mancini and he turned out ok.

I think your criticism is unfair. Although he may not be ready the biggest issue for me is how other players play with him. Which you could say is because he isn’t ready but also because our current first team defenders have been so good for so long with no real change to the line up apart from Josko who is incredible.
