I think JSP is likely to go on loan next season with these 2 and likely Doyle coming in.Clearly competition but we’d back ourselves as the best club in the world etc. But with Khusanov signing and we still have JSP around I’d be happy if we signed him but he stayed there for the CWC as looks a real talent.
He needs alot more experience than what City can give him, and with those 3 coming in and still having Dias, Ake, Akanji and a broken Stones for 3 spots, we will be stacked.

Doyle is an interesting one. Didn’t he do preseason with us this year before getting a loan move. At the time I thought that meant we were having a good look at him.
But my point was we might not rush to get a right back in Jan if the right option isn’t available as a signing we will want for say next 5 years. And Reis is an again a project player but could be the next big thing.

I think your criticism is unfair. Although he may not be ready the biggest issue for me is how other players play with him. Which you could say is because he isn’t ready but also because our current first team defenders have been so good for so long with no real change to the line up apart from Josko who is incredible.

I think it’s a massive step up to play in the prem from the Youth system which is mostly none contact.

Reading this thread makes me realise how many people are completely out of touch with the current state of football. Suggesting that 40m or £33m is a massive fee for him.
£30m barely gets you anything now. It gets you Kieran Dewsbury-Hall. It doesn't even get you Archie Gray or Max Kilman.
It's a great fee for a very highly rated young prospect.

He’s only had 6 appearances in the First Team, he can improve, and more experience in a more stable team environment, will help.

I don’t think he looks too out of place at all. But he hasn’t made it his own but he’s 19 playing his first time at pro level in an unbelievable squad full of international players. It’s not a knock on the kid.
Could make an argument if Pep and coaches didn’t like him we’d seen more of Braithwaite as highly thought of and had a run in the cup as well but he is 16.

The longer he waited for someone to show from central midfield or wide, for the simple pass, put him under lots of pressure. They did him no favours and he was basically playing fullback.

At no time did Nunes move out wide to give him an option to pass to.
