Volleys on our OS ... two are not.

This always sparks debate on reddit as well. This is what I believe I have been taught my whole life.

Volley - Hitting the ball out of the air on its way "down" (falling). This could mean, yes, from a cross before it hits the ground, or with the ball taking a bounce, high enough to where the player has to strike the ball while it's "falling".

Half-Volley - Striking the ball after a bounce on its way up (most times immediately after the bounce)

It's always interesting to me to see how this differs around the world from country to country.

No idea where 'your way' was but you would have been drummed out of Urmston for called 'Wembley' by the name of 'headers and volleys'! I was brilliant at this game if I remember correctly.

Irlam, so not far away. You are all a bit weird on the other side of the canal :)

Did you used to come across the locks and terrorise us at our own fair? "IRLAM ARE COMING, IRLAM ARE COMING!!" went the cry.

Ha, that brings back memories but with Flixton lads coming over with flick knives.
